I would like to re-install Antix Linux on separate partition. However, at the time of installation, it asking for root partition. I have only one partition having ext4 file system. Last time, when I installed Antix, I have able to install on nvmeopl7 drive. Not partition was required at that time. I have just selected the drive and continued the installation. Now trying to install new Antix Linux release it is asking root partition. How to avoid and continue with selection of my partition. I dont have free space other than this partition. If root partition is mandatory, how to do it on gpart software.
Also confirm, whether new build (antiX-21) will compatible with RAID SSD Nvme Drive?.

::Hi,
I am not quite sure whether I understand your post correctly.
1) You had installed antiX in the past on a drive. No (extra) partition(ing) was necessary and I assume you did a full-disk install.
2) Now, you want to install whole system (root ‘/’ + ‘/home’) in a single (joint) partition.EDIT:
I did test the installer, selecting Custom install (i.e. not full-disk), selected root partition and the installation proceeds.
I.e. selecting the root partition (and not selecting a separate home partition if you wish the system to be on a single-partition) seems to be all that is needed.
The below applies only if you run into troubles later. There are posts on antiX forum that some people found the new installer somewhat confusing.
END OF EDITPlease post additional information:
A) Output of ‘lsblk’ (or screenshot of gparted) when in live media.
B) Information about the RAID mode (e.g. available/accessible in BIOS).
C) Did you attempt to install in UEFI/legacy mode?
D) Output of ‘inxi -Fxz’ when booted in the live media.
E) Did you verify the integrity of the downloaded ISO (using check-sums)?This YouTube link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_Xz4GJO9Bo may help (copied from this post https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/troubles-install-antix-21-final/#post-73906 ).
Regarding compatibility with RAID SSD Nvme drive:
I had issues installing antiX and Fedora in RAID-mode of a new Dell laptop and I had to set the RAID to AHCI in BIOS, please see (related link in my 1st post):
https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/install-at-dell-latitude-7410-n62p4/
I did a dual boot with Windows and fortunately, the Windows survived without much tinkering.
DISCLAIMER: Switching to AHCI may damage the other OS you plan to dual-boot with and it may require some work in the OS for it to work properly! Backup your data first. Also, a quick web search ‘Debian RAID SSD Nvme Drive’ indicates that SSD Nvme drives (did) have issues (in the past).

::No option found for switching from RAID to AHCI on BIOS (UFEI) of HP Laptop I will check once again other points. I don’t want lose windows setup. I have not checked the integrity of ISO.

::I have downloaded the ISO once again from another site. Installed on SSD NVME on separate partition. Booted through refind.conf in separate gpt partition (efi-ufei).
