Hello,
I have installed gdebi to manage .deb packages
apt-get install gdebi
and the icon shows in the applications list.
However, opening gdebi and selecting megasync-Debian_9.0_amd64.deb from the Downloads folder will apparently install the software. However, no icon is showing in the applications list and so I cannot find a way to run the software.
Please, let me know in case I am missing a step to follow to correctly proceed with installation and running.
Thank you in advance,

::You can try
Open the antix-control-centre, go to maintenance, go to edit menus
choose applications
You maybe have to wait some seconds for the listOctober 14, 2018 at 2:30 pm #12547Forum Admin

::when you install via a deb, you need to update the menu. there is a function for it on the top level of the menus.
the menu might auto-update on a logout/login, but I’m not sure about that.

::Thank you to both.
Menu > Update Menu
And there is the icon 🙂
Now, one last question, in settings the software is configured to “Start on startup”. However, it is not starting on startup. Any idea why? Maybe it requires some tweaking?
Thank you in advance.

::you will need to manually add a startup line to either the desktop-session startup file or the window manager startup file. Links to those files are in the control center (I suggest the desktop-session startup file, which I believe is linked on the “session” tab).

::Hello,
Thank you for the advice.
Control Center > Session > User Desktop-Session > startup
add:
megasync &
as the last line in the file
reboot and voila! 🙂desktop-session.conf as you kindly suggested seems to rely on option=”desired-option” format. As I do not know what megasync would fit into that format, I have tried editing startup and it works.
I am editing the title of this message to add [SOLVED] for anyone’s reference.
Thank you!
