I run a small, self-hosted MQTT broker (mosquitto), and one of the biggest problems is finding a nice GUI client. I recently found a nice cross-platform client, MQTT Explorer which, although it’s an Electron app seems to work well on antiX. On Linux I found it easiest to download the Appimage and copy it to /opt/MQTTexplorer (you can put it anywhere), make it executable and run it.
I created a .desktop file to run it. Edit: I used a convenient icon as it doesn’t seem to have its own icon.
/usr/share/applications/mqttexplorer.desktop [Desktop Entry] Name=MQTTexplorer GenericName=MQTT Explorer Comment=MQTT Explorer Exec=/opt/MQTTexplorer/MQTT-Explorer-0.4.0-beta1.AppImage %f TryExec=MQTT-Explorer-0.4.0-beta1.AppImage Icon=mupdf Terminal=false Type=Application Categories=Internet; NoDisplay=true- This topic was modified 11 months, 2 weeks ago by T620user.

::Nice! Thanks for sharing the code. I also use the MQTT Explorer as MQTT GUI. Thanks again for the info!
Since we are sharing tips, I would also like to share valuable info about MQTT. Recently, I came across this blog post (click here) that also explains in detail how to establish a safe MQTT connection. Moreover, the whole Cedalo website and forum are dedicated to this protocol. Reviewing their documentation and blog posts might help a lot in your work.
They also have a nice Cebalo forum where people share valuable information and can help you with almost any issue about MQTT.- This reply was modified 7 months, 2 weeks ago by practition.
