      Hi all,

      Sorry if this is an oft asked question.

      In my Sid install, I note several installed programs which have updated from an antix version to a regular debian version. For example libasound2-plugin-bluez and bluez-alsa-utils.

      All of the dependencies appear to already be installed and when I ran a simulated install, no other programs were to be installed or upgraded.

      Just want to make sure that in these cases, I don’t need to check anything else before upgrading…

        Been awhile since I ran sid repos.

        You can do simulate dist-upgrade

        sudo apt update

        let it finish
        then

        sudo apt -s dist-upgrade

        Since apt pinning is the default in

        harry@biker:/etc/apt/preferences.d
        $ cat 00systemd
        Package: *systemd*:any
        Pin: origin *
        Pin-Priority: -1
        harry@biker:/etc/apt/preferences.d

        I would not sweat what debian supplies. Just pay attention what anti posts in Sid upgrade thread as far as potential breakage that occurs sometimes using sid.

          In this particular case, the antiX version existed because there wasn’t a Debian package.
          Noe Debian is providing this package and it does not need systemd/elogind so go for that one.
          One less package for us to maintain.

          Is pipewire still working ok?

          antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

            hi anticapitalista,
            Yes Pipewire seems to be working fine, after I installed these packages.

            I don’t have working bluetooth hardware on this system…but the packages didn’t interfere with playing thru my headset.

            thanks for reply.
