MutualAidLinux
Hi there,
Thanks to the creators of antix – have been using this and mx linux to freecycle old laptops for people in our mutual aid groups (7 distributed so far).
I’ve been having trouble installing zoom and spotify. I tried to install zoom from the terminal by downloading the debian installation from the zoom website and following their instructions. I now realise I shouldn’t have done with a .deb file, I got an error about “systemd” being absent which I’ve since read up on. I tried to install it using software installer but it doesn’t seem to work. When I click install it opens the get package window which closes but does not open the terminal installation window – all I get is a mouse with a black loading wheel.
When I try and install spotify client in synaptic says “Could not apply changes! Fix broken packaged first.”
Any help with either of these issues would be great. Apologies if there are posts elsewhere – I’m definitely a noob here.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Thanks for the quick replies, I tried these but it still doesn’t work. Using software installer:
With Zoom I just get the black wheel and it never opens the terminal to unpack the package.
With Spotify, it does seem to install, opening the terminal to unpack dependencies. But I can’t find the application afterwards and Spotify doesn’t appear greyed out after the installation. Not sure if this can be easily resolved, not to worry if not.

::Spotify should appear under “Entertainment Media” in menu.Or you can look for it with the “App Select” from menu.
With Zoom I just get the black wheel and it never opens the terminal to unpack the package.
Confirmed here.
