::Even with adblock turned off, it is not possible to watch RT news via a browser where I am.
I will be traveling to Poland in a month so I will have an opportunity to check if it is blocked in Poland as well. I expect the same information blocking rules as imposed by the European government, but who knows…
Here, in the USA it is not blocked. Now it appears that RT News has just been unblocked in the ‘Fake News’ blocker in antiX 23. My guess is that anticapitalista must have pulled some strings in the blocking authority, whether it is the previously mentioned Canadian listing or the government…
However it happened it must have been with recognition of the fact that RT News does not belong as ‘Fake News’ category. Whether it will be reclassified as ‘News from Unfriendly Countries’ or whatever it will be called, remains to be seen…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

Here, in the USA it is not blocked. As I am in Poland now I want to confirm that apparently Poland conforms to the EU order to completely block rt, thus isolating citizens of EU from any the enemy side of information, not allowing EU citizens to evaluate relations on their own. Apparently the EU government knows better what information EU citizens should be exposed to. That reminds me of the ever wise government control over media and information dissemination that we experienced during the times our countries were a part of the socialist East Europe, carefully overseen by the Soviet Union…
Interestingly, when in Copenhagen, Denmark, which is a part of Schengen, such blocking was not there…
This is just to report on the results of the test I performed, in relation to the above quoted observation by anticapitalista…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

::@olsztyn I am sorry to read that many regions still have censored or blocked content, though I am not particularly surprised.
In the USA where I live, while on one hand there certainly is biased reporting and the usual abuses of power, money, and influence. Nevertheless, repeatedly, such behavior is observed, reported, and news spreads, and I am grateful for the freedom to believe, read, and respond freely.
We’re supposed to have a “free country” in those respects. While I’m not naive to think that there are never those who attempt to restrict access to events, news, abuse of power, etc., I have seen, over and over again, a few just recently, where such things are still found out and eventually exposed. Hopefully that eventually happens everywhere.
None of us alone have the power to bring down the wealthy, but only recently in the US, there was an international figure who had a long time financial scheme that took decades, but it WAS exposed, revealed, and steps have been taken – to this point it’s in the open; I’m not sure of the degree of the consequences, nor the measures to reduce or eliminate another instance, but this particular event was found, and I believe it’s being handled.
Another family with a long time history in law in the southern state where I lived was found guilty of murder in his own family and also found guilty of financial mismanagement in addition to murder. An ex President is also undergoing a legal process; it’s difficult to determine what consequences will be handed out, but at least these kinds of things are revealed to the public and the justice process has a chance to work. Like all processes, ours is not perfect by any means, but I’ve enjoyed freedom in many ways and I’m grateful for each day and each opportunity to express my opinions and to write to others worldwide. I do not take these matters for granted; they have come at a price many times; freedom fighters exist in many places and I am thankful for those who stand up for others.

::@olsztyn : I can only repeat what I stated earlier in this thread already:
On the one hand I believe people should have a right to inform themselves about what dictators tell their people about the »big bad enemy« to talk them into war mood (which I have perceived from russian media during the last years constantly), but I also see the danger of other’s countries people being influenced by all the »alternative facts« (read: lies) presented from tv stations controlled by a dictator. We have seen what this ends already some decades ago. So I’m not decided whether it is better to block these problematic contents or allow people to access them.
Actually total freedom without any regulation is at least questionable:
We’re supposed to have a “free country” in those respects.
Ask yourself who has the power to form public opinion of masses? That’s generally spoken always poeple flushed with funds only, owning and commanding huge media business empires. So the regulation means in the first place to give lower voices a chance of being heard at all among all the noise the big players produce around themselves and their products.
But I’m with you: In a perfect world, where all people are able to evaluate and judge all pieces of information properly they incorporate, whatever false (and even purposefully faked) these might be, in such a perfect world it would be highly desirable not to regulate anything. Unfortunately we don’t live in such a perfect reality; must be some kind of parallel universe 🙂

P.S.:but at least these kinds of things are revealed to the public and the justice process has a chance to work.
There is a difference between reporting faithfully to the public what’s going on, and flooding people with provable delusive material, produced by a non-free regime. It’s not the very best idea to allow the latter to be published freely as long the majority of people can’t distinguish the fake from the reality. This precisely is what Hitler made succeed in the end to take over German government in 1933, and I don’t want to see something like that ever happen again. Same goes for the US statements like: “There are chemical mass destruction weapons in Irak, we need to make war immediately“, or the GDR statement: „Niemand hat die Absicht, eine Mauer zu bauen”, two days later there WAS a wall. It’s all the same fake quality as what Putin talks nowadays about “The Ukraine Government and People are Nazi, we have to invade and take over the country.” Lies. Nothing but lies. You know what comes from mass publishing all this rubbish? Exactly: We end up in war altogether.
Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
