We had to put in a new router for our wifi service, which meant changing the password for wifi. In the morning before entering a new password, I had no connectivity issues. After the new router was set up & I entered the new password, connman was showing that I was connected, but I couldn’t access the internet on my main laptop. Other items had no problem accessing the internet. I created an iso of the current antix system & made a live usb. Then I ran it live on a different laptop, no problem connecting to the internet. So I ran the same live usb on my main laptop where I was having the problem, & was able to connect to the internet. Yet on the laptop with the same system installed, I can’t connect to the interent? I assume that I can just re-install the iso on to the laptop & this might fix my problem (I’m on the live usb, as I type), but I’m curious as to why this might be?
Thx, Renegade

::Did you receive an update for connman today?
Can you check the output of these two commands on the problematic system?
service resolvconf status

::@Xecure
I had 4 updates this morning, but updated without looking at them.For “service resolvconf status” I got “resolvconf updates are enabled”
For “readlink /etc/resolv.conf” I got /run/connman/resolv.conf

::For “readlink /etc/resolv.conf” I got /run/connman/resolv.conf
You have 2 options:
1. Keep using connman to manage resolv.conf -> remove /etc/default/connman
sudo rm /etc/default/connman2. Let resolvconf manage it:
sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf sudo ln -s /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.confThen reboot and it should work again. Option 2 is the preferred option, to make it easier to change between connman/ceni in the future (if needed). But option 1 is to keep things as they were until now.

Wow, that fixed it. Had you seen that problem before? There was a conflict between Centi & Connman? How come the live usb that I made from a snapshot taken after the problem was happening, didn’t have the same problem?
Anyways, thank you so much for your time concerning this.

No, but I expected this problem may pop up a few times. I am to blame for the recent connman change (I proposed it in a recent thread), and I realized that if the user keeps the old /etc/init.d/connman file without replacing it for the new one, and the package includes the /etc/default/connman file, it may bring problems to already configured systems. I tested a it on live USB, but the update went well without any hiccup.
The problem may come because of how I configured antix-wifi-switch initially to point to a specific resolv.conf file (all this was done months ago before the connman update). I hope only a few people experience this problem.

::Hello Xecure, Renegade and dr-kart.
Today antiX 19.3 full 64 bits was successfully updated and there was connection to the Ethernet network normally after the end of the update process.
The computer was turned off properly and then turned on again, there was no internet connection.
I tried to access the router from the network and the configuration page would not load. It was possible to connect only once using the antiX WiFi Switch and switching to Ceni. I hope the information I’m posting and the URL photo can be helpful.Thanks for teaching us how to solve the problem.

::@Xecure
Installed 19.4 the other day also had no internet after connman update below fix it.
sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf
sudo ln -s /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.confPlus updated to antix19 Kernel: 5.10.52-antix.1-amd64-smp x86_64 kernel which solved the hardware issues.
But I do have questions but later for this.

::Dear All,
I found the same thing yesterday with “antiX-bullseye-b1-x64-full”. I can’ t connect with the ethernet cable anymore. I thought it was a bug in the test version. As I don’t have wifi on my desktop, I deleted Antix completely.
Is it serious doctor? Yes, now I work with Windows 10.
I don’t do updates on my old laptop anymore to protect my Antix 19 Full (no Wifi installed on it, only by ethernet cable).Best regards,

::Hi, I can confirm the same as well: antiX 19, testing; suspecting a failed/messed-up ‘connman’ update (see bottom of my post) indeed.
DNS seems to be not working; cannot load pages in browsers, connect to repositories etc. but
ping 8.8.8.8
works well indicating DNS issue only.
@Xecure:
Thanks for providing the working fix!(Will try it and “cry” out loud if it fails.)Cause:
Did some updates in the morning yesterday, all worked well until shutdown/reboot.
Last update from ‘/var/log/apt/history.log’ (mounted in dual-boot Devuan):
Upgrade: sane-utils:amd64 (1.0.31-4, 1.0.31-4.1), desktop-defaults-spacefm-antix:amd64 (0.4.1, 0.4.2), connman:amd64 (1.36-2.2, 1.36-2.3.0antix1), repo-list:amd64 (0.1.24, 0.1.25), libsane-common:amd64 (1.0.31-4, 1.0.31-4.1), python3-six:amd64 (1.16.0-1, 1.16.0-2), libsane1:amd64 (1.0.31-4, 1.0.31-4.1), smxi-inxi-antix:amd64 (0.4.21, 0.4.22)- This reply was modified 1 year, 9 months ago by sybok. Please don’t take this kind of responsibility. You are not to blame for anything.
The antiX with the “antiX WiFi Switch” allows us to easily switch between network manager programs (Ceni and Connman) is something unfeasible and imaginable in this day and age to have to make changes to configuration files manually whenever it is necessary to test whether or not the other network manager works with the problematic device. This kind of technical requirement either drives users away from antiX or simply makes Ceni an unused program due to the difficulty in switching between network manager programs.My goal in the previous post was to inform that the same problem occurred with other people here in Brazil and that by following your tutorial, the problem was successfully solved. When I tested antiX 19.4 via “Live USB” and saw that there was internet access normally, I was able to eliminate the suspicion of device or cabling defect. Next I thought I would try to solve the problem by using the “antiX WiFi Switch” which allowed me to connect to the Ethernet network.
The “antiX WiFi Switch” is yet another of your excellent solutions and I am extremely grateful for all your commitment and volunteer work done for the good of all antiX users.
Thank you very much Xecure.

::As I was in a hurry this morning, I simply renamed /etc/default/connman and rebooted. Now I withdrew that and applied the second fix, since that’s what the dev intended. Thanx, Xsecure!

::Thanks for the feedback. It seems that /etc/init.d/connman is properly being replaced. Then the issue is the pre-configured /etc/resolv.conf clashes with the new connman’s default options.
Still, I will prepare a video after I test a bit more, as antix-wifi-switch might not work as before with the new configuration.
