Hi,
Just installed antiX 19 on my PC. I have a built-in wifi adapter as well as a USB wifi dongle in my PC. I want to be connected to wifi through the dongle, while using the built-in wifi to create a wifi hotspot. While this was extremely easy to do on Ubuntu: https://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2019/02/ubuntu-budgie-1804-internet-sharing-wifi-to-wifi-with-2-adapters.html I can’t find any way to do it on antiX. Any ideas?

::antiX uses connman as the network assistant. If you want to try with connman:
https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/best-way-to-set-up-wifi-hotspot-on-antix-19-2/If you want an almost identical method as you describe, install networkmanager and remove connman.
If connman gives you trouble, then install networkmanager, as you originally wanted to:
sudo apt install network-manager-gnome resolvconf
Once installed, remove connman.
sudo apt purge connman cmstremove cmst -m & from startup and add instead
nm-applet &
Reboot
Now, network-manager should be available from the systemtray.antiX Live system enthusiast.

Network Manager has hotspot function built in. Since ubuntu is using network Manager then it should be equally simple to set it up under antiX as well.
For the hotspot purpose and some other functionality I replaced Connman with Network Manager in most of my antiX instances yesterday and I see the hospot function but did not have the time yet to test it extensively, so I only assume it works as designed at this point.Previously I mentioned that Network Manager appeared to use about 20M more memory. However now I see that after removing Connman the memory usage is just about the same as before, so I was wrong with that observation.

::Ok, I removed connman and installed NetworkManager. Its detecting the wifi connections on both of the adapters and lets me connect, but the internet doesn’t work.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

You need /etc/resolv.conf to symlink /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf
You can do in a terminal:sudo rm /etc/resolv.conf sudo ln -s /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.confTo fix it.
Let us know if this fixes the internet connection issue. If it doesn’t we will try helping you figure this out.antiX Live system enthusiast.

I’m using 19.2

::No luck with the symlink. Still shows that it’s connected but the internet doesn’t work.

Just today I tested out on a clean live 19.2 base release to replace connman with networkmanager and it worked for me.
Make sure to test first without any firewall.
If you want some help troubleshooting, paste the output for these commands:cat /etc/network/interfaces dpkg -l | grep 'connman\|cmst\|network-manager\|resolvconf' ls -l /etc/ | grep resolv.conf inxi -nxxxz cat /etc/sysctl.conf | grep "ipv6.conf" ping -c 3 8.8.8.8 ping -c 3 google.comWe can start with this. Paste the output to a file and then copy/paste it or upload it from a computer with internet connection.
