      Hi,
      I’m trying to use some proprietary software (Foxit-Reader) on my 32bit notebook but I always get

      $ FoxitReader
      [TimeStamp]-----main-----begin
      svn:  r057d814

      ##################################################
      ##############Foxit Reader Setup Log##############
      ##################################################

      [TimeStamp]-----CReader_AppEx::InitInstance()-----begin
      Ungültiger Maschinenbefehl

      /var/log/messages says:

      Apr 21 09:46:12 antix1 kernel: [   34.910155] traps: FoxitReader[2818] trap invalid opcode ip:87fcdbd sp:bfb99d40 error:0
      Apr 21 09:46:12 antix1 kernel: [   34.910165]  in FoxitReader[8048000+1cd4000]

      $ uname -a
      Linux antix1 4.10.5-antix.1-486-smp #1 SMP Fri Mar 24 17:15:57 EET 2017 i686 GNU/Linux

      What can I do?

        If time and date are as far off as indicated that might be the cause of your issue. Fri Mar 24 17:15:57 EET 2017
        is long ago, much commercial software calls home and validates among other things system Time stamp..

          I’ve been using Master PDF Editor which is proprietary like fox it reader but free also for us.

          https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=57098

          Since everything installs in /opt .

          Easy enough to remove it.

          You can see if time stamp is screwed in it also . Rule out Fox it reader.

            Hi,
            it’s also working for me 🙂

            As far as FoxitReader does not I wil use it.
            Thank you very much!

              I did all updates on Antix 17 so far – I suppose this is newest version …

                Newest recommended available kernel for antiX-17 is shown here:

                https://www.antixforum.com/spectre-and-meltdown-security-kernel-upgrades/

                ie version 4.9.212.antix.1 kernel

                You have to install it manually.

                Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

                antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

                  I’ve installed it. But with this kernel Rox IceWM shows black screen for about 2 minutes after boot.

                  $ uname -a
                  Linux antix1 4.9.212-antix.1-486-smp #1 SMP Sun Feb 2 16:12:37 EET 2020 i686 GNU/Linux

                  With 5.5.0 it starts in normal speed, so I chose this.

                  The error remains the same …
