Just tried inxi -w and got a message about no weather site found. So I did a little poking around on the internet and found this suggestion: inxi-w-fails-to-report-weather

I followed the suggestion and fixed the problem. I thought this mignt help someone else.

What I did is not common practice.
          But.
inxi sits in /usr/local/bin and is only a text file. So if I broke it. My backup I made that I did not post in that thread would have bailed me out.

My backup step for my original was < I use root terminal to do this >

          cp /usr/local/bin/inxi /usr/local/bin/inxi.bk
          Then I check it took

          cd /usr/local/bin

          then

          ls

          then see

          inxi
          inxi.bk

in the above readout . Just normal practice for me that I do without thinking now. Hence why I forgot to mention that in my Lq post in that thread.

The reason I posted the above. Use

            locate inxi

you will see inxi-gui which we also have and I did not wanna break that with my change.

Wow, that’s a crazy coincidence that the one link I found was by a most esteemed forum admin. I did search this forum first for an answer but didn’t find one.

Thanks for the suggestions. You are right about breaking inxi-gui. I just tried it and no joy. However, I’m still accustomed to using the cli version so I guess I’ll just leave it as is.
