      `Some of you have heard of this tool, others not.

      One of my friends from long ago at one time worked with Kanotix, then sidux as a tool development engineer. h2, Harold Hope, and another friend “trash80” worked on smxi and inxi.

      Is an article about it. I highly recommend both smxi and inxi (along with other tools these two people have worked on over the years.

      I’m not sure if they are still involved with them or not but those are the two people who created the tools that used information in /proc and other system and peripheral utilities to come up with the excellent tools we have today. If you are familiar with the tools then you know how useful they are.

        Pretty standard tool with antiX & MX and a great information tool, I have used smxi to install the latest video card drivers and keep them up to date.

          Harold Hope did indeed author or co-author the utilities in the smxi and inxi group.

            Hello Mr. Masinick
            h2-1 often boards interesting inxi discussion over at mxlinux forum: antiX. You can watch for those posts about inxi features.
            The posts brought enough attention that our inxi —update option got suspended disabled.

              said differently:
              Some users (me) had groused about the fact that inxi is scripted to “curl | sudo install” its updates.

              To prevent this arguably unsafe operation, antiX now distributes an inxi package which installs
              /etc/inxi.conf declaring
              B_ALLOW_UPDATE=’false’
