      Hello there,

I have done a frugal install of antiX-base-19.

During boot, the option to install comes up and gives a list of partitions to choose from.

Since I have already done a frugal install, I don’t want this offer to install when I boot into the frugal-install.

Is there a way to remove this?

If done it would cut down booting time and exempts the activity of choosing the default ‘0’ and then typing ‘c’ and hit enter.

      Thanks & Regards

How do you boot to your frugal? From live USB? From a grub copy from live USB?
You will need to edit the grub file and add the grub.entry info for your frugal. That way you can have a customized entry for your frugal install.

          Thanks Xecure for coming.

          I boot through extlinux.

During boot, the option to install comes up and gives a list of partitions to choose from.

This never happens to me. Regardless whether I use extlinux/syslinux or Grub entries to boot Frugals. It looks as if Frugal boot is somehow saved (F8) on Live boot, but should not carry over to extlinux…
Drive option to install Frugal should only show when you boot Live and option on F5 is one of Frugals.
If you are not using Live to boot but extlinux, what is the menu entry you use that points to Frugal install in extlinux.conf or syslinux.cfg?

              I boot through extlinux.

Please publish a photo of the bootscreen. I suspect this is not extlinux but the antiX live boot folder you may have copied to your boot partition/folder.
If I am mistaken, and this is really extlinux, it is a very strange ocurrence and I hope christophe or others can find out how to fix this.

Thanks Xecure & Olsztyn for your efforts,

what is the menu entry you use that points to Frugal install

                This made me realize the mistake. I had misunderstood the following aspect documented in Christophe’s thread;

The APPEND line holds any additional antiX boot codes you use

I had appended ‘frugal-only’ in the append line. That brought the frugal install option.

I removed it and it’s gone now.

I am glad you resolved this question. You should be directly booting into your antiX Frugals right from extlink/syslink menu of Frugals.
I think now you realize it is really simple and straightforward…

True Olsztyn, extlinux is really simple.

Further, every step taken, brings new information.

This can also happen if you don’t accept the default label (antiX-Frugal) at the time you create the frugal install and then fail to use the “flab” boot code to identify the label used. This caught me a few times. I use different labels for the partitions for my frugals. But the grub-entry file on the LiveUSB does not add the flab= entry. You have to do that yourself.
