Please see QSI attached. I am bemused/confused as to why when I select the Repo Manager from Control Centre – Software – Repo Manager and try to invoke the repo of my choice (Milan, Italy) and then clicking Apply, the listing reverts to Uzbeckistan. No matter what I’ve tried, I can’t get it to stick with Milan, Italy. Any ideas?

        Hello antique23.

After you make the change in the “Repo Manager”, apply the command in the Terminal $ sudo apt update, you must search for the list of updates in the repository you chose and then apply the command $ sudo apt upgrade.

Hi all, my antiX 23 Beta is also locked to Tashkent Usbekistan

Why I do not know. Maybe only one serving the beta.

Thanks. I have uninstalled the beta on my primary platform and reverted to good ol MX. On this machine that I am currently writing, I have retained the stable version of AntiX which I believe works more than satisfactorily on an older platform. I actually dual boot on this PC with MX but find myself using AntiX more now.
Yes Xunzi, I think you are on to something there with the Uzbekistan server perhaps being the sole beta server at this time. My experiences with AntiX on the main platform at least have been somewhat mixed. I have found the Realtek drivers not always being immediately available and the lack of GDebi natively in the liveUSB made it all the harder to download and install the requisite driver. I could get the driver copied across from MX but couldn’t satisfactorily install it without so much bother. I didn’t have quite the same difficulty with the older machine. I am rambling I think but I hope this feedback is of some value to the developers.

Antique23, I think all our conversations on this topic should be in the specific thread about antiX-23-beta1-runit-full (64bit) for testing. Because the more we spread the word about a test ISO, the harder it gets for other people to find antiX 23 beta1 ISO related information.

I have found the Realtek drivers not always being immediately available and the lack of GDebi natively in the liveUSB made it all the harder to download and install the requisite driver.

As you may have noticed, in one of the antiX 23 beta1 ISO updates, the “MX Debinstaller” program was added and it can be found by right-clicking on a “.deb” package and it is either it or the Debinstaller from PPC the best options for installing a local package. GDebi has not been working well since antiX 19.2 (this was the edition I started with).
And about controllers, I still have a lot to learn in this respect in antiX / GNU-Linux, because when I compare my knowledge in this area with Windows, I’m sure that I don’t know anything about controllers in GNU-Linux .

I have found the Realtek drivers not always being immediately available and the lack of GDebi natively in the liveUSB made it all the harder to download and install the requisite driver.

While it is getting closer to release, antiX 23 Beta 1 is still test software, and it’s intended to be used by people who are willing to test.
Others can use the stable antiX 22 or the legacy antiX 19.5, or whatever version is able to adequately support your specific hardware.

For me, I’ve been able to properly test antiX 23 Beta 1 on at least four different systems, but this is something I used to do for a profession,
and I’ve also used antiX since it’s inception.
