Tagged: rox-icewm workspaces
I am using antiX-21 with Rox-iceWM and have 4 workspaces.
Jumping to the next workspace using Ctrl-Alt-left/right is working well.
Nevertheless direct jumping using Ctrl-Alt-# with # as the number of the workspace does not work.
How can I configure this?
Thanks
Hi omfe, Reading ICEWM manual before asking helps, it is a goldmine of information.
Use winkey plus left or right arrow to switch back and forth between desktops
You even get a popup info on where you move to when the taskbar is auto hidden to
maximise usable desktop space.
There is also a wealth of information on autostarting applications and opening to
specific desktop at set size and position. Makes for very efficient working.
For those with desktop Icons, doing things the linux way with starters in the taskbar
and multiple desktops is a lesson in ergonomy.
Did you try Alt+2
KeySysWorkspace2=”Alt+2″
This is configured in
/home/Username/.icewm/preferences
and works here.
control-centre > Edit IceWM Settings > go to the preferences tab
Scroll down approx.line 775
or use the Search/Find button of geany and look for workspace to see all the settings for workspaces.
Hello caprea,
this is working well.
I read the section “Switch Desktop by key” inside of “ice-wm.org/FAQ/”.
There is an information about using of “Ctrl+Alt+n” to switch desktops, but this seems not to be consistent with my antiX-21.
Sorry for my incapability to find this keyword “KeySysWorkspace#” inside of “~/.icewm/preferences” and thanks a lot.
Kind regards,
omfe
