I was just wondering what communism means to the creators. Do they think it’s something like China and if so, do they think China is a better place than the U.S.
I’m citing China as an example simply because its government is named Chinese COMMUNIST Party.
Not trying to debate. No interest in debating. Simply want to get the creators’ point of view.
Maybe the creators’ have an entirely different notion of what communism is or should be?
As a side note I used antiX years ago then switched to Debian and one of the reasons was because I found the whole communism background of antiX a little off putting, but now I’m back to using antiX because the operating system is just too good for my old hardware and the communism thing should not be a factor in my choice of OS.

From the old forum:
https://antixlinux.com/forum-archive/history-of-antix-t2412.htmlPhilosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I saw that antix was proudly anti-fascist, but not that she was a communist.
Did I misread?
It’s probably not important.

::@Rantanplan: I read the link provided above (from the old forum), and anti can’t be clearer than this:

Yes, I am, but not the academic type - I'm an activist as well.(Some of the default firefox-esr bookmarks are a dead giveaway on anti’s political views 🙂 )
Unrelated – An american youtuber that clearly states he is right winged reviewed antiX a while back and was impressed with it – until someone told him about the bookmarks…
The comments on that video are priceless! There was even a guy saying that the old default “crosses” wallpaper (that I loved) looked like the satanic symbol of a inverted cross!!! 🙂
I tend to be apolitical- if anything, I lean towards the left- but that does not stop me from enjoying other people’s insights- I do like much of that Youtuber’s content- he is usually very detailed in his analysis of any given technical subject (but just can’t, sometimes, shut up about politics also the guy is sometimes very vain, complaining that he know more about Covid than Medical doctors- I think he has a degree in biochemics or something similar- yet, he makes his living as an youtuber and network guy… hum…)My point – even if anti is as red as he can be… so what? He’s the kind of person I “want to be when I grow up” – has his own teaching job and yet creates and maintains a free system to give ever the poorest people (hum… relatively speaking, they do have to have a computer and access to electricity, etc) the possibility of using archaic devices, saving them money and the environment! Literally anti puts his efforts where is mouth is – he does not simply complain about the world, he tries to do something about it!

First, anticapitalista is a man.
Second, he has written about this recently. He does not like capitalism or communism, what he actually prefers is where the community of people have the opportunity to govern and share without being dominated or controlled by overly controlling leaders, so NO, he doesn’t agree with any of the major centers of power and control. It’s very much like antiX – yeah, there is leadership, but it’s not heavy handed autocratic control. As far as the exact specifics, look for previous comments by anticapitalista or ask him personally; I defer to his comments; what I’ve said here are merely my interpretations of what I’ve seen and are definitely NOT intended to put words into his mouth.
He’s free and always entitled to say and believe whatever he chooses; also, since this is ultimately his distribution, though there are many contributors, he does have final say simply because the origins of this distribution are in his name.Bottom line for me: I respect anticapitalista AND our distribution and forum.

Does this not fit the definition of libertarian/democratic communism? If he’s both a Marxist and an Anti-Fascist, these views would broadly fit the label of ‘Communist’.
I do understand if he wishes to reject labels like this, as people often have different ideas/definitions of them which can cause confusion. The bookmarks do also suggest libertarian/anarchist socialism.
Perhaps a man really dies when he can no longer take in a new idea.

::The original ideology of Communism is quite different than today’s mutated results in China.
The same can be said of Adam Smith’s Capitalism vs today’s mutated results in the Western World.
We live in a world run by fraudsters and con artists posing as politicans, economists, and business leaders.

https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/music-and-poetry-of-grup-yorum-antix/page/2/#post-69347Since anticapitalista directed the interested parties to the linked thread I would like to encourage everyone to become familiar with ‘Music and Poetry of Grup Yorum antiX’ that thread is about…
Although many of their songs are communist/revolutionary, that fact (IMHO) does not in any way negate or diminish the value of Grup Yorum’s outstanding music and songs in beautiful Turkish language. You can find lyrics on related youtube links if you want to sing them along. You can google-translate if Turkish happens to be not your native language. Turkish is not my native language either and learning Turkish continues to present a challenge for me, although over time I had learned quite a few other foreign languages with no such issues…
In a word I highly recommend Grup Yorum’s music and although you might want to overlook their underlying ideology it is the beauty of their music and spirit that counts to me…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

Great saying… Thank you BobC!
This makes me think though… I thought politicians are fraudsters and con artists by their nature. They do not need to pose as such…Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

People think they (politicians) are on the left or in the right by virtue of ideology. But in reality politicians have only one and the same objective – their political career and power.
If there were any politicians dedicated to the ideology they proclaimed, they are thing of the past.
However the spirit of people must not be extinguished by those politicians in power. It should live on.- This reply was modified 5 months, 4 weeks ago by olsztyn.

::I do believe that it’s unfair to say that 100% of politicians everywhere are fraudulent and crooked. In local communities, for instance, there are many very good people, and I’ve had the positive experience to be friends with one or two of them. These people do NOT get far ahead by serving their local communities. What DOES have a tendency to happen, unfortunately, is as people who may have had “pure intentions” at one time, get into dealing with more influential people, they ultimately have to compromise, and that’s when the “slide” happens.
Other people are crooked to the core, and there is no defense whatsoever for them!
