      Hello everyone,

It seems such a long time since I posted a message on this forum,
due mainly to the fact that I haven’t had any problems since I set up
      antix-core+LXDE on a single-core 1.66Ghz Samsung netbook!

On this netbook, I have been using kernel 4.4 and it runs excellently.
      From the link https://www.kernel.org/category/releases.html
I see that the end-of-life for this kernel in February 2022.
However, will antix be extending the use of 4.4 beyond this date ?
I have seen some online references suggesting that some maintainers
will be keeping it going into the late 2020s or 2030s.

Thanks in advance for any feedback on this …

We don’t have any plans to extend support for the kernel beyond what upstream (kernel.org) provides.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

many thanks for your reply – I’m sure one of the other antix kernels will be fine
on this low-powered netbook, when the time comes, in February 2022.
