Hi, trying to install antiX-19.2 “Hannie Schaft” 32-bit (antiX-19.2_386-full) on a hard drive. Works perfectly on a flash drive. Impressed. Want to make antiX work.

Is Super Grub2 Disk a good idea? Step-by-step advice? As you can tell, new to Linux; fumbling along.

If this has been explained, link(s) much appreciated.

      Thanks!

Sounds like improper dismount of usb drive.

Make another antix pendrive. Go into gparted on it. Plug in your corrupted pen drive with kernel panic.
Unmount it after plugging it in.
Right click again on it and do a check.

        Let it finish.

Dismount it the right way afterwards. Should be fixed now. In Icewm desktop. Which I use. There is a usb unmounter icon in taskbar. Desktop menu entry should switch you over if running some other manager in full iso.
        After you fix it.

Agreed with rockytnji that this should not be the actual issue. I have installed 19.2 32-bit on Thinkpad T60, which has exactly the same processor as yours with no such problem… Works great.

Whoohoo, antiX working beautifully now. Appreciate your fast, descriptive advice, which unfortunately was over my head, which was spinning around like Linda Blair. So started over; new ISO burned to a DVD. Flash drive may have been the problem. Thanks again.
