Was it a typo that in the list of kernels that had a security update, that “5.8.16-antix.1-amd64-smp” wasn’t mentioned? Or should I assume either 1) it didn’t need an update or 2) I should switch to one of the other kernels listed?

My understanding is that anticapitalista is updating only these kernel series:

@all – latest security fix kernels should now be in the repos.
All users are strongly advised to upgrade (via synaptic, cli-aptiX or package-installer).

        Latest versions:

        5.10.52
        4.19-198
        4.9.0-276
        4.4.0-276

So switch to one of those, if you can; that’s my recommendation. 😉

Thanks to anticapitalista for updates and christophe for above post.
uname This quad core i5 box is now running 5.10.52 Bullseye beta Runit live.

In hope that below helps newer inexperienced users who wish to update a live system.

To update a live system, update your package base, install, kernel, kernel headers all updates, I used synaptic.

Do a personal remaster for your own system.

Reboot then use antiX tool for live system kernel update.
check your runnining kernel, uname -r in console gives that info.

When you are sure your system runs without issues you can, if you wish remove old kernels and headers.
Synaptic is perhaps the easiest tool to use for that.
