A new 5.10 kernel has been packaged that (hopefully) fixes the booting issues that a few users have had.
      (I used a Debian patch).
64 bit for now and only for bullseye not sid/testing repos.
Can you give it a try and post results/issues.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

My initial testing of this kernel version is not positive. I lose wifi function. This kernel does not recognize the altheros ath9k wifi driver. All the previous published antiX 5.10 kernels recognize this common wifi driver. Also, I lose acpi function. Conky cannot recognize charging and discharging of the battery.

          hello anticapitalista
youtube with sound; what else do we need?
Is Suspend expected to work under these circumstances?
Suspend not suspending on this case.
shutdown power off machine, it does not power off display.
(but i did not check it before the kernel upgrade. sorry. new to 22runit. do i rollback and check it., done.)

okay it does Suspend and shutdown when using Linux 4.9.0-326-antix.1-amd64-smp x86_64
edit add: Suspend and shutdown work when using Linux 5.10.142-antix.2-amd64-smp x86_64

2nd machine tubb desktop with -.153 live; no suspend, shutdown does not power off machine, it does not poweroff display.

            Thanks.

I have uploaded another pair of debs that fixes the shutdown issue.

Please try again – make sure you remove the older 5.10-157 image and headers before installing these 2 new debs.

Got in; needed to add safe to my boot entry (don’t have to do that with xanmod1, Liquorix, or 5.18 kernel, but it does “work” with that “help”.

Now I remember why I got rid of the other 5.10 kernels – they all seem to experience similar “issues” on this system. Yes, I can “coax” them into working; on the other hand, other kernels work without any “special treatment”. That said, I’m here with 5.10.153:

Works good with this newer kernel version.

I tested this newer kernel on that Dell computer that had the altheros wifi adapter that I did the initial testing that I had posted earlier in this thread. Works good with getting wifi. Also, can read battery status in conky. All problems resolved with this newer kernel.

I also tested this kernel on an hp laptop that uses the broadcom-sta adapter that uses the wl wifi driver. Works good.

                Thank you.

Looks like we’re making progress; we have a few people who are getting the November 9 5.10.153 kernel working properly.

Just showing how I do this. Still have to reboot. Wondering if I need to do another nvidiafbdev blacklist edit after reboot.

Took a look at Htop. Everything looks under control.Task manager shows cpu at 27% and ram usage normal.

Now off to test sound and video and blah blah blah.

Edit: Sound and video OK without using pulse audio on this computer with current firefox-esr. Did some mount and unmount in /media. Everything OK there also.

                        Thank you!

I thought your system would be a good candidate for this kernel and it is.

Also we do test kernels nearly the same way; I also used sudo dpkg -i to install the same kernel and header.

I can’t test on the system I’m using today because I need a much newer kernel here, but I can try a few older computers; I DID successfully get the 5.10.153 kernel working on my Dell Inspiron 5558; will see if I can get to my Lenovo X201 and see how it goes there later…
