You’re lucky that you have ‘free’ wifi hardware so the gnu kernel will work fine.
I wonder what the gnu kernel devs have done to get the 5.10 series working well on your hardware.
They must have patched something, but I cannot find their patches.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

        Hi all,
looks to my uninformed eye like libre sources and configuration are hosted at
        http://linux-libre.flossmirror.org/freesh/configs/5.19/

I find the idea of libre kernel interesting, there is a big but:

Unfortunately very few more recent computers will be able to run safely and stable
without closed source blobs. Almost all CPU need to have microcode loaded.
May be wrong but think that is included in kernel modules.

My Nvidia GeForce GT 710 passive cooled (er case fan cooling) hardware is crippled performance
wise until I install the propietry Tesla 470 drivers.

Replacing this high performing 12 year old i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz device will only happen if it
breaks non repairable. Please note: I tested overclock to 4,50GHz without the cores getting any
        where near to critical temperatures.

This is the link I used to download the gnu 5.10 kernels – just scroll down & click on the line that says linux-5.10.155-gnu1/ to get the latest gnu image and headers available for x86-64 version:

              Hi Mikey777,
As i wrote, I must use closed source blobs and Nvidia drivers on some of my
systems. A libre kernel might work on my eepc but I would not bet on that.

That link you gave appears to be linked to the coding used.

That was intentional, anticapitalista wrote he was unable to find kernel build configs.
Finding the pages quoted was not so easy but gnu kernel congig may, I hope be of interest.

                Calciumsodium,

I found that resume stopped working with 4.19.256, and tried the 6.0 liquorix kernel and resume works again. Hopefully the bluetooth headset will still work, but I haven’t tried it yet.

                Thanks for the suggestion.

Kernel configuration is an art, I think…

Did you try the suggestion from my last posting?

                            sudo apt-get purge exfat-dkms
                            sudo apt-get update
                            sudo apt-get install linux-headers-5.10.173-antix.1-amd64-smp linux-image-5.10.173-antix.1-amd64-smp

Purging the exfat-dkms, then updating the cache, then installing (or removing and reinstalling) the kernel cited should resolve the issue.

If it STILL doesn’t work, then at that point I’d conclude that your system isn’t friendly toward the 5.10 kernel.
BEFORE coming to that conclusion however, please run the steps Robin recommends.
