System runs rock stable as before, after this kernel update. Many thanks, anticapitalista!
This is a frugal-persist install, most recently apt-upgraded before I did the kernel update.
You wouldn’t believe this notebook is mostly 20 years old now (BIOS was flashed with an update two years after production date) when you see antiX running on it. It’s still in use for everydays work and multimedia up to 720p (3000kb/s).Here the details:

ERROR: update-menus [17874] Script /etc/menu-methods/icewm-common returned error status 1 ERROR: File /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox-guest/6.1.14/source/dkms.conf does not exist.But this doesn’t keep it from running fine. Virtualbox 6.1.x can’t be installed on a 32bit CPU anyway. And I don’t see what the error in menu-methods could have caused by now. No visible effect as far I can see. So I don’t mind.
Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
