I get the feeling I am getting myself deeper and deeper into a “gender swamp”. Pointing out that “it’s a she” I thought you were referring to @cyrillus31, but I am not so sure anymore. Not that someone’s gender is relevant here, but I don’t want to use the wrong personal pronoun for someone.

::Have you tried turning off the power management functions? maybe a boot code like noapci? At least for troubleshooting.
Not sure of the correct spelling. apic=off? acpi=off? noapic? Can someone chime in and correct my spelling for this option?

Ahh, so it has. I missed a whole page of the thread! And I would have never learned that Caprea is a female had I not gone back re-read the whole thread. Glad you got it sorted out.
