Hello! As I think you understand, I’m newbie. And after installing antiX, I immediately sat down to set it up. One of the most important things I wanted to tweak was going to sleep when the lid is closed. This topic has already been discussed here and I used these tips, but I ran into a very unusual problem: if I close the lid, my laptop will go to sleep, however, if I open it again, it will turn on, work for a couple of seconds, and then “fall asleep” again. It’s not critical, but not pleasant. Tell me what could be the problem?

::I used these tips
hmmm maybe should just use one OR the other (xfce-power-manager OR edit “#LID_SLEEP=true” line in /etc/default/acpi-support) maybe using both is causing a conflict? [[[ A “conflict” or a double trigger of the wake sleep toggle when the lidOPEN event is handled ]]]

::I followed the advice given in the discussion I referred to. The line “LID_SLEEP=true” is uncommented for me. I don’t have xfce-power-manager installed.

::I ran into a similar issue years ago w/antiX & s2ram. I have my own sleep script at /usr/local/bin/s2ram, and here’s what I ended up having to do in there to stop this “double-suspend issue” you describe.
#!/bin/bash #PREVENT SLEEP BUTTON FROM DOUBLE-SUSPENDING: if [ -f /tmp/ram/nosuspend.lock ]; then echo "w:s2ram: double-suspend attempt thwarted!" >>/tmp/ram/acpi.dbg rm -f /tmp/ram/nosuspend.lock exit fi touch /tmp/ram/nosuspend.lock # shut off things that can't handle suspension (usb and alsa) #STOP MODEM STUFF, TRYING TO PREVENT "/proc/acpi/sleep" BECOMING "BUSY!" /etc/init.d/alsa-utils stop echo "..Suspending..." >>/tmp/ram/acpi.dbg sync /usr/sbin/pm-suspend echo "..Coming out of suspend!..." >>/tmp/ram/acpi.dbg /bin/sleep 2 #DO ALL MY CUSTOM STUFF I WANT DONE UPON SUSPEND/RESUME HERE. /etc/init.d/alsa-utils start echo "..unsuspend:fully awake, removing locks!" >>/tmp/ram/acpi.dbg rm -f /tmp/ram/nosuspend.lock #END SCRIPTJune 28, 2022 at 10:27 pm #85345Moderator
