Thanks for the help and instructions.
I did the long test and got PASSED.
So, I will proceed to install antiX 19.3, and report back.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)

::The harddrive from the 600 should fit in the 610.
Thanks for the information.
If the HD on the D610 fails, I will use the HD from the D600 for the D610 which is a faster laptop.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)

::The Dell Latitude D600 and D610 laptops were systems I used quite a bit; I do not own either of them now, but between 2000-2010 I used them both at home and at work. I also put antiX on other people’s systems, so at one time or another, either at work, on my own systems, or other people’s systems, I’ve used the D600, D610, D620 and D630; they have ALL worked very well on most Linux-based software for a long time, so if anything does not work, it may be possible to find some older software drivers that will work, or some “repurposed” hardware to replace failed components.

::@Brian
Thanks for the information.
I agree.
I have several of the old Dell laptops that just keep on going.
I will use this D610 as a secondary laptop since it’s HD is questionable at this time.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)

::Hi greyowl,
Nice to hear result PASSED.
As you had a pass and read errors the frst time round
data corruption was near certain the cause. @ first I was unsure,(For the users I help here who have no second device I tend to replace
a disk rather than have a crying young user on the phone. Experienced.)You can keep an eye on the smart readout for a while, just short test,
as long as you get a pass fine.You have solid laptop hardware, devices built to be eay to service and last.
Well worth looking after.Take care

::I got antix 19.3 installed successfully on the Dell D610. It seems to be working well.
The only problem remaining is the wireless which does not show the wireless networks in the area on neither conman or ceni.
The D610 wireless worked fine with antiX 17 using both ceni and wicd.
I will post a new topic to deal with this problem,I really appreciate all the help from everyone on working through the HD problem.

::Quick two sentences about the wifi in antiX19
If you want to switch from connman to ceni or vice versa, you must use the antix-wifi-switcher.
menu > applications > antiX > antix-wifi-switcher
The wifi-switcher ensures that the necessary configurations are written.
So please use the wifi-switcher now first to get things back to normal.Also, in connman, for whatever reason, the wifi is turned off by default and has to be switched on first.
Here’s a cool video from Xecure about it (antiX-full description starts at 3:02)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5Ryp4gM2Eg&feature=emb_title
