How did the OP of that post get to that conclusion? What are his/her sources? Is this because of the stupid video “Switched to linux” made, based on emotion and no investigation or proof?

@Xecure: Tom, from switched to Linux usually has very valid options on all things Linux and security related… but when he expresses his political views, I tend to fast forward or quit that particular video clip ( he sometimes talks about guns, his opinion on the “non pandemic”, etc)
As far as I can understand (never having been to the USA), many Americans still have horror for anything sounding “communist” or “socialist”, that dates back to the cold war – that’s the reason why they don’t have actual public free higher learning or health systems. Tom’s antiX review was highly positive, until a commenter called his attention to the “evil commie’s links” (my words).
For some extra laughs, read the comments of the original STL antiX YouTube video- folks were even saying that the default wallpaper was a inverted cross (a satanic symbol) 🙂Edit: just found the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PWBw7_hYRY
On a later video on Mx and antiX that same youtuber expressed some “reasonable” justifications for his position, and said he had nothing against Mx itself (only antiX for not “advertising” it contains polical bookmarks)
No disrespect to you, anticapitalista, I tried 2 of those Firefox links and never took a look at them after that… It’s your distro, you can put what you want on it – I just want an OS that works for me- so thanks for antiX, and for the making me laugh this morning!

People talk about “linux should not bring politics or political views”. The opensource movement is the most communistic movement ever invented and it cannot be more political/ideological. Still, a lot of people have branded anything with that name as “demonic”. They shouldseparate the word from the meaning. Helping others brings no profit, so this should be considered an anti-capitalistic move. Still, people all over the world help other linux users and get nothing for it (and even Tom helps with Christian related things and donates money his time). Are they all hypocrites or do they not understand what they are doing?
I think a lot of people have been convinced that anything related to the “communistic” tag is evil. But communistic ideas can also live with capitalistic ideologies. Why must everything be black or white?antiX Live system enthusiast.

I see that differently, it brings a lot towards an open understanding and caring mind that goes beyond appearance language and race.Tom helps with Christian related things, that kind of person has never understood the book he claims to follow.

I’m about as non political as you can get, but I just delete all the browser links, because it’s my browser, & I only want my links…..so there! 😉
I don’t care that they are in the distro, I use it for what it is, the best distro for own personal my purposes. 🙂

For one thing, we are using software. If we feel like expressing other views (politely) we can do it in this opinion section.
The people who create a distribution can do whatever they want to it or with it.
A number of years ago we had a few themed distros, Hannah Montana Linux, Taylor Swift Linux, Christian Linux, Devil Linux… Etc. I haven’t seen any of them in years. It was people who were expressing preference primarily in the background art and menu links.
antiX has links and version names that are a reminder of people and events for those who took a stand. I’ve read a few, not all. Bottom line is that this is also a freedom of speech and choice, freedom to read, respond and freedom to make your own system and customize it. antiX has all the tools necessary to make your own menus, artwork and even create your own remastered version. That’s more choices than anything else I am familiar with.
