      Grazie in anticipo

      m

Dear PPC (en passant, sorry for the typo on writing your name in another tread), many thx for your hint, that I tried to follow with no avail.
As far as I could understand on my Firefox and on my Chrome, no adblock is installed.

Moreover, as I wrote in Italian, all the settings of “privacy and sicurezza” of Antix firefox and on Q4OS Firefox are exactly the same.
On Q4os all work, on Antix no. This on 3 different pc. So the mystery increase 🙂

May be I don’t know where to search.

Sorry madibi,I should have been clearer; antiX Menu > Control Center > Network > Adblock (the icon that looks like a red shield inside a white circle) > UNBLOCK

It works, trust me, I checked with the sites you provided 🙂

            P.

EDIT: no problem with the “PPM” typo

              MANY THANKS.
This is another little improvement in my learning curve on Antix.
              I am really very grateful

OT: I use Antix for 4 years, in a very basic way. Last august I prepared an old laptop for my holidays and I had 3 (little) problems.

The 1st one, concerning the b43 driver of the wifi of my acer extensa (solved rather early)

the 2nd one concerning the setting of the mic, that refused to work. To try to test it on https://it.mictests.com/ with firefox was impossible, it simply didn’t work. Later I discovered that for some magic reason on chrome, the very same test worked properly and I could setup the mic for Skype and Zoom. With the: Adblock > “Unblock” => the test on firefox works!!! (as the pages of libero.it)

the 3rd one was the prob concerning the look like MacOS, and in some month I could arrive to my goal.

              I am very happy

About your second concern – mic not working in “Firefox”… If you were using “Firefox”, not “FirefoX ESR” (that comes by default with antiX, please note that they aren’t the same application) then it’s probably because you were not forcing “Firefox” to use apulse.
If that’s so, try the mic with “Firefox ESR”. If it does work, then open the terminal and try to force “Firefox” to start with apulse (close any running instance of Firefox, just to be on the safe side, and on the terminal run this command:

                apulse firefox

You should have audio fully working with “Firefox” if that was the real problem. If it wasn’t, well, you can still keep using Chromium derived browsers (like Google Chrome).

EDit: now that I’ve re-read your last post I got it: disabling antiX’s adblock finnally made the mic test work in your firefox, is that it?

Main point: if you have problems with antiX that you can’t solve and searching for help on the internet does not provide any results, the faster you post a question on the forum, probably the faster you’ll get effective help 🙂
Also, asking in the main forum, in English is probably the best way to get responses, even if you have to use on-line translators…

                P.

Yes, it was exactly that way. Moreover, my Firefox is the ESR version (I don’ get the differences)

                  Many thanks again, I appreciate.

I’d like to write the word SOLVED in the title, but when I push the button “Edit Topic” I receive the answer “Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this item.”
