::Not many icons sets are as complete as papyrus. If you want UN-refined why not the gartoon icons set. I think the package is called something like gnome-icon-theme-gartoon.

Oh and icons in gnome-extra-icons. Many look like they were designed on old 16 bit computer and have a retro video game look. The bad things is the set is just dumped in a folder in /usr/share/pixmaps instead of being treated like a true icon-set. 🙁
Maybe a bit to much? I don’t know. You’ll still have to use papyrus or another icon set as a back up for the icons not provided by gartoon.
If you really want UN-refined change the conky font to comic-sans. 😛
If papyrus is to refined, these suggestions may be a bit to much UN-refined.

::Now for a more serious suggestion. I’m sure you know JWM Kit Repair and Restore has the option to create restore points. They are basically an archive of your current JWM config that can be used revert your config to a previous state. This is useful for sharing the config with other machines/people, repairing a damaged config, or just back after you go crazy test a bunch of stuff in your config.
The user’s restore points are stored in $HOME/.config/jwmkit/restore. The default one that is used when you run jwmkit_first_run is store in /etc/jwmkit/restore/
The point I’m getting to is that you can override the default restore. A design created with consideration of people making their own re-spins, distros, etc.1. Get your jwm config exactly how you want it.
2. use JWM KIt Repair & Restore to create a restore point. (hit repair button –> Create —> Create )
3. find the new restore point in $HOME/.config/jwmkit/restore (name will be a timestamp and will end with .restore)
4. rename the restore point to original.restoreNow the “Original Install” option that shows in JWM Kit Restore will be your defaults instead of the prepackaged JWM Kit default.
/etc/skel and creating new users.
Be sure to copy any data you wish to be added to a newly created user $HOME in /etc/skel/ Most importantly configuration files. Basically follow the same directory structure but replace $HOME/ with /etc/skel/ For example you’d add the restore point made above to /etc/skel/.config/jwmkit/ so it will be copied to $HOME/.config/jwmkit/ when a new user is created. Of course you probally will want the whole directory $HOME/.config/jwmkit/ and $HOME/.config/jwm copied to /etc/skel for the creation of new users.
I can’t make a complete list you’ll need to find them. You know what changes you made more than I do.I do Suggested to include
$HOME/.config/jwm
$HOME/.config/jwmkit
$HOME/.local/share/icons # Suggest moving outside of $HOME so you don’t have to have this wasted copy for new users.and folder under .config for apps you have special configurations for.
the following already exist in /etc/skel but have changed in your config. So overwrite it with your new versions.
INFO 1 : if it ends with a / then copy the entire folder
$HOME/.desktop-session/
$HOME/.icewm/
$HOME/.icewm/
$HOME/.local/share/applications/ # I’d delete the one in skel first to remove any unwanted files.
$HOME/.local/share/desktop-defaults.NOTE : It appears the default antiX config already includes the .conkyrc, .bash, gtk theems, etc. If you have made changes overwrite the one in skel
Like I said before You know what was changed more than I do you I’ll let you figure out the rest. Might want to test creating a new user to make the new user get all the configurations you made.

::Actually i question if the icons in $HOME/.local/icons/ are used in your config?. I’d suggest deleting them. Um . . . they are owned by root. This needs changed. I removed them and checked jwm, fluxbox and icewm and they all look fine without them. I know I’m posting like crazy. It’s a slow Friday. Which I’m happy about.

What I’m really thinking is reviving the old Ubuntu “buuf” icon theme. There’s a remix that was last updated in 2019, I’m going to download the .deb package from the PPA and see what’s in it and if it breaks anything.

I’m going to drop the PPA address here so I can find it later from the Libre-antiX respin machine: https://launchpad.net/%7Enoobslab/+archive/ubuntu/icons/+packages?batch=75&memo=75&start=75
The comic-sans conky idea is awesome!!! Definitely going to try that.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

NICE! Thank you for making me aware of the icon set. I think it will look nice with the wallpaper.
I’m glad you like the comic-sans idea. A lot of people make fun of the font, but it has it’s purpose and it’s the comic book style which I think is prefect with the wallpaper. The problem is not the font it’s the over use of it.
I’m glad to see it’s already in the repos. Thanks admin

::Wait a minute. I just realized there are desktop icons on the screenshot you posted a few post back. Are you going to have a desktop? or is it going to be minimal JWM? Personally I prefer it without one. If you are having a desktop will it be zzzFM handling the desktop? and will there be a minimal option for those who don’t want a desktop?
Looks like I may need to update JWM Kit again for you. Currently JWM Kit Desktops does not support setting the wallpaper for zzzfm desktop. I can add this feature soon if needed. I suspect I can recycle my code for spaceFM since it’s a fork. Even if you don’t configure zzzfm for the desktop as default I think It would be good to have this feature available.DONE!
Also take note that the feature to set a different wallpaper for each virtual desktop is limited to minimal JWM. If you are using rox, spacefm, etc for the desktop you can only set a single background for all desktops.JWM Kit Desktop now supports setting the wallpaper for zzzFM desktop
Download the new JWM Kit package here jwmkit-0~20220218.deb

::I like the larger font on the conky. It will go off the screen at 800×600 resolution, but anyone who is at that low of resolution is looking to change it anyway. Figured I’d mention it. Something to consider because you want a good first impressions.
My opinion here so it’s all subjective. The black menu does provide a deeper contrast, but I believe the earth like gray-stone, and brown color of the first one matches the wallpaper better. I also think the cartoon like icons are easier to see on the gray. Might I suggest a middle ground. Setting the menu background color to #141414 and keep the rest the same. This should create a good contrast without going straight to the deep black.
To bad we can’t have the menu pop up with a paper cut-out look with a rough edge. 🙂

I had some extra work to do for the University over the weekend, but should have another ISO ready within a day or two. It’s a fun project, really enjoying working on it.
By the way, feel free to take the ISO and do anything different that you like with it as well. You may find that you have some other ideas than me for things to try with libre-antiX or with antiX in general. The antiX ISO snapshot tool will make a new copy for you, as easy as a couple of button presses. I use the “Save Personal Settings” option on the ISO snapshot tool so that it keeps my changes to JWM and to abrowser. Just have to remember to clear out all your browser history and browser passwords and any “Recent documents” history from different programs if you plan to distribute a “personal settings” ISO. I’m planning to make several versions of the Libre-antiX 21 respin, including a 32-bit one that will fit on a 700mb CD and a 64-bit version (might do both buuf and non-buuf icon versions as well). I’d be glad to host any ISO’s you make through my download accounts on different cloud servers if you like.
antiX is certainly incredibly enjoyable to work with, there are endless possibilities for how to set it up to your liking, and vast amounts of software available.
I’m wondering if we could talk anticapitalista into hosting the JWMKIT .deb files in the antiX repo? That would allow you to push changes directly down to any antiX JWMKIT user’s installations as they did their normal package updates.

::I was not thinking about antiX’s special features for creating a snapshot. I going to guess the “Save Personal Settings” automates the copying your settings into the /etc/skel directory. If that’s true you can ignore my suggestions on that.
