Hi there, I tried the search function before coming here and I failed awfully.
I added already a picture about this issue (check attachments), as titled, the whole application menu (and nearly 96.0083% names on the drop-down list, settings, sub menu, etc.) are displayed with squares instead their name or tags, I had been looking for in any search engine (like only Google) and lost time, it seems to be an issue with system font, I don’t know how to switch or change it, I managed to switch icon theme but it didn’t hit the hot spot.
Thanks in advance, if anyone got an idea what it could be, I have reinstalled the whole thing for nothing, several trials and error already made, if its a matter of luck, just tell it.

::Install the language you are using for libreoffice (and any necessary fonts).
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::The whole system is in english, also the libreoffice itself; I still believe it was a pretty bad idea using a spanish file to this example.

::For me that looks that you have messed privileges on your $HOME. The fix goes like.

::If previous commands did not help, close LibreOffice and re-fresh its config files.

::None of these commands above didn’t work, it just wiped my recent files list from libreoffice; I even tried play with dpi. I tried to install libreoffice 7 in this antiX 17.3 through dpkg and failed, it looks like it had copied somewhere but didn’t work, it still open the 5.2 ver. Maybe I should move to antiX 22 to skip these headaches.

::Never seen square fonts in LO Menus ever. Been using LO for many years.
You might try to reinstall the Libreoffice user interface in selected language.
It is available from LO.Org with possible exception of historic versions. You installed a version of LO with dpkg so it is probably in /opt but has no menu entry.
Installing debs with apt is recomended.Regarding updating to antiX 22 if you do not have an NVidia GPU and 22 will run go for it.
You have a choice of kernel, if the system will run with newer kernel take it. There are some
advantages regarding LTS support.March 21, 2023 at 1:38 pm #102727Memberstevesr0
::Why is there a box above the OP asking “Did you enjoy this trouble before?” and inviting people to click on a box?
It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the thread and looked like malware to me.

Square box comes if there has no font available. The reason can be missing font or no permission to use font, like someone has run chmod 600 as root user.

The first poster has set up a poll.

::Thanks, anticapitalista.
I didn’t see a reference to a poll and the phrase just didn’t seem connected to the OP’s problem.

You have a choice of kernel, if the system will run with newer kernel take it. There are some
advantages regarding LTS support. The libreoffice version I’m running in this distro its the 5.2, the clear path to me would be to take that choice reinstalling the whole thing, so, I already tried and failed, and I believe the issue its me, since if I reinstall LO, it should give permission and the whole setup it needs to work (I believe).
So, What should I from this point?¿ The steps and commands to reinstall LO, I wanna give it a shot before moving to antiX 22 to try LO lastest version, I’m really fine with what I’ve, and I work anyway in it, the squares are sticked in the main menu as shown in the picture but randomized in drop-down menu, sometimes it show squares and sometimes it doesn’t, like the LO itself its trying to become a chatGPT or something.
Anyway, I already tried these offers above, event installed english language (UK version) and still squares but less in drop-down menu, I should b more close already to solve this.
