Trying to remove lightdm encountered and error in the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/lightdm.prerm.
I found a missing fi around line 56. I added a fi after the “done” statement which seemed to correct the problem.
This was repeatable.
Was not sure where to post this so I gave hear a shot.

Thanks, it also perfectly helped me although I got a slightly different error message (unexpected end of file at line 67). But the error was the same (missing “fi” after “done”).
