i need an alternative for cgroup to limit ram and CPU usage
if anyone has recommendations please suggest
tried using some sh bash script but for some reason didn’t work

this is not exactly what you ask for but…
I have a keyboard shortcut configured to start some resource-hungry programs with lower resource priority using the utility ‘nice’.
nice -n <value> <program> [<other options>] &
E.g. if I am OK with the default value, the command executed when shortcut is invoked reads ‘/usr/bin/nice /usr/bin/chrome –incognito &’.
If you have a process already running, you may adjust the “niceness” using ‘renice’.
