linux-image-5.10.57 not working on my antix-17 install

Hi,

My Lenovo yoga 11e (full 7 install, updated every time I boot) boots fine with 5.10.52 but not with 5.10.57. After the initial portion of the boot, it terminates in a non blinking dash instead of a login screen.

Happy to investigate further; not sure, if there is a new hardware requirement for the .57 over the .52.

Hi stevesr0,

I upgraded the kernel like you when they first came out. I noticed an error that something did not work correctly during installation, watching the text output on the screen. (Forgive me, I don’t remember the specifics now, this was some weeks ago.)
I removed that kernel. But no one else on the forum was complaining, so I thought it must be my repo mirror that wasn’t correct somehow. I re-installed that kernel some days later – may have even changed the repo – but from then on, it worked like expected.
Did you see any error messages while installing?

Hi christophe,

I think I upgraded this computer only a few days ago. I will remove and watch the reinstall for an error message.

(I also upgraded two other computers running antix 19 without an obvious problem, I think before this one.)
