Found this today
https://www.linux-live.org/Linux Live Kit
is a set of shell scripts which allows you to create your own Live Linux from an already installed Linux distribution. The Live system you create will be bootable from CD-ROM or USB Flash DriveSometimes I drive a crooked road to get my mind straight.

::Found this today
https://www.linux-live.org/I was trying this out about a year ago but for some reason could not make it work. Perhaps I gave up too soon…
Briefly touched on this in topic ‘ ISO-Snapshot comparison to Linux-Live.org tool’ in this forum but did not positively determine why it did not work for me. Perhaps just it’s architecture.
I will try again…- This reply was modified 1 year, 3 months ago by olsztyn.

::Have not looked at the script yet to see if it makes any systemd calls.
https://github.com/Tomas-M/linux-live
From the build script
# BIOS / MBR booting cp -r bootfiles/* $BOOT KER=$(basename $(readlink -f $VMLINUZ)) cat bootfiles/syslinux.cfg | sed -r -e "s:/boot/:/$LIVEKITNAME/boot/:" -e "s:vmlinuz:$KER:" > $BOOT/syslinux.cfg cat bootfiles/syslinux.cfg | sed -r "s:/boot/:/$LIVEKITNAME/boot/:" > $BOOT/syslinux.cfg cat bootfiles/bootinst.bat | sed -r "s:/boot/:/$LIVEKITNAME/boot/:" | sed -r "s:\\\\boot\\\\:\\\\$LIVEKITNAME\\\\boot\\\\:" > $BOOT/bootinst.bat cp $VMLINUZ $BOOT/ || exit- This reply was modified 1 year, 3 months ago by rokytnji.

::The author, “TomasM”, used this to build slax.
The mechanism employs an experimental fuse filesystem named DynFileFS (also authored by TomasM)Documentation here: (older, still refers to slax “bundles” as “modules” ) http://www.slax.org/internals.php

“difficult to implement” isn’t the sticking point. The fly-in-the-ointment is this:
The use of conditionally-loaded “modules” is incompatible with a dpkg -maintained O/Sps:
slax ships a preinstalled cryptominer

“difficult to implement” isn’t the sticking point. The fly-in-the-ointment is this:
The use of conditionally-loaded “modules” is incompatible with a dpkg -maintained O/SIf I understand correctly this means keeping and maintaining the original installed system from which to make Live instances. Directly updating Live instances would not be possible due to this incompatibility…

That figures. I did a search forum 1st to see if the thread I started had already been posted. I guess my search term was not good enough for the r/h taskbar search box . I say my screw up because I just perused the titles of the threads instead of the content. At least now. Linux Live Kit will show up in the search box.
