Hiyall,
The questions get harder as I learn more!
Purely as a test, I have a 16Gb stick that I want to partition so that one partition is antiX and the other simply data unrelated to antiX. Then use GRUB to login to either
Can it be done?
I must admit that I put a fair bit of research and trial into this and this forums becomes my ‘last resort’.- This topic was modified 9 months, 1 week ago by Peter Linu.

::On the live usb maker app, click “show advanced options.”
Then at bottom left, tick the box for “make separate data partition (percent)” – and change % number as you like. (Then fill in the rest & execute.)
This should do what you want: a data partition that Windows, etc. can access, and the live usb antiX system.

::Christophe,
I got that far myself prior to asking. My question then is; how do you implement GRUB2?Live-USB = zzz-IceWM-antiX21-runit-64-base: static persistence

::Well…. Grub loads the antiX live-usb on UEFI computers, and can be switched-to from syslinux on legacy bios computers. It comes standard on the antiX live-usb.
I want to partition so that one partition is antiX and the other simply data unrelated to antiX. Then use GRUB to login to either
Grub can be used to boot an operating system. A data partition will not have an operating system. But if you plug the usb into any computer, that data partition will be readable and ready for use. So grub really doesn’t come into it. And the data partition can be used on any system.
Or am I misunderstanding the question?

::I must be missing something. I installed antiX on a 32Gb stick. It took up 14Gb. Everything went well. I then plugged the stick into a non-antiX computer so I could transfer some files. That computer only recognised the antiX partition.

::Did you make that data partition as described?
Are you saying you tried it this way already, or just a “normal” antiX live-usb?A new Live-USB that I just made:
USB-DATA is the first partition, so Windows should see it instead of the “normal” live-usb. Other have told me this works great.
However, I cannot test it, since I don’t have any non-antiX computers…..- This reply was modified 9 months, 1 week ago by christophe.

::It’s at the bottom. Greyed out.
Maybe if you use 100% of the usb stick instead of 50%, then it will allow you to select it?
