      Hello.

So I’ve been trying to make a full live usb from antiX with the “live-usb-maker” provided with core.
However I always get this :
      `/usr/local/bin/live-usb-maker: ligne 1177: 1 + 100 * (main_needed2 + uefi_val + bios_val + MAIN_MARGIN + UEFI_MARGIN + BIOS_MARGIN)
      / total_size : division par 0 (le symbole erroné est « total_size »)
I have no idea what it means.

Tell me if you need anymore informations. Thanks.

        znekk, install “parted” package
        sudo apt-get install parted
        then retry live-usb-maker.

Currently, the live-usb-maker package does not declare “parted” among its dependencies.
The package should not presume parted is present ~~ parted is only pre-installed in base+full: https://github.com/BitJam/Build-iso/search?q=parted&type=Code&utf8=%E2%9C%93

Hurray ! Thank you very much. How did you know that was it by the way ? Searched the forum but didn’t find anything about that. I very much felt that it was a simple thing but knowing nothing about programming this didn’t tell me much. Anyways thank you again !

edit : Oh, the mention of “core” might have given it away I guess.

kudos for discovering an unnoticed bug (er, missing dependency) scenario.

Yes, reading “core” was the tipoff + followed the breadcrumbs easily because your posted error msg mentioned the exact “live-usb-maker: ligne 1177” affected code

Well I guess I did have a valid reason to make a forum account then. 😀 Thank you again !

Thanks skidoo – I’ll upload a newer version that adds this dependency.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

To keep the size down (parted + deps adds 4MB?) and forego the hard dependency, a future version of the live-usb-maker script could just perform an inline test, exiting with msg “please install package ‘parted’.”

live-usb-maker also depends “cli-shell-utils” (it already performs an inline test checking for that).
