Hi, I have a thinclient to rdp to a windows terminalserver running on antix 17.2. Everything works great. There is only one thing i would like to get. On the loginscreen you must enter your login and your password. The alternative is to autologin the user, what gets me to desktop immediately. Is it possible to predefine the username but to force the user to enter the password, for example as text in the textbox of the username or in form of buttons? There will be only one user in addition to root.

(I assume you didn’t make changes and are still using slim as your login-manager, although I’m wondering bc your intention should already be the default settings.)
You can make the desired changes in the file /etc/slim.conf by editing as root.
The relevant lines for this are

        # Focus the password field on start when default_user is set
        # Set to "yes" to enable this feature
        #focus_password no

        # Automatically login the default user (without entering
        # the password. Set to "yes" to enable this feature
        auto_login no

        # default user, leave blank or remove this line
        # for avoid pre-loading the username.
        default_user XXXXX

        Whereby XXXXX is your username

This shoud work as you intended, but I think it is also normal behaviour in antiX

If you also set focus Password to yes and remove the # from the line, the “user field” would even not be shown, and you would be asked directly for the password, but you always have to keep in mind then you did that, for later changes.

It worked excellent. You are right, I didnt change to much of the system. Before this changes the username at the loginscreen was empty. Thank you and have a nice day. 🙂
