Thank you for your quick answer.
1st problem: yes, I use compton. I did the try that you suggested me, installing Cairo-dock, and I fell in the same bug that is reported for Plank: there is a rectangular area around the dock where I can’t do any entries. ==> So unfortunately the problem has not a solution. I did also a research whith a lot of others docks, but or they are discontinued, or the don’t give the possibility to magnify the icons 🙁
Please note that the same bug happens in fluxbox

2nd problem: I studied the same page that you suggested me, and I agree with you. I don’t think that with tint2 there is the possibility that I am searching

3th problem: I did a search both in the Jwm home pages, and in the “themes for linux” pages, with no success at all

In any case, many thx for your attention 🙂

Sorry for waiting 2 weeks, I was a bit busy in the latest days.
I did some test and the results are as follows:

          1. wbar
pro: no need of compton, it needs some work to make it working, the icons magnify when hovering with the mouse
cons: it is not possible to make it appear by going with the mouse in the part of the screen where it is positioned. The only way I have found, when I have few applications open and the dock is hidden by active windows, it is to change the workspace. For example I usually go to look for the dock in area 4, which for me is always free and the dock is visible.

          2. docky
cons: the last version is the 2.2.1.1, dated 2015. It is impossible to install it on Antix 19.x (ERROR: your int’l tool is too old, you need int’l tool 0.35.0 or later)

          3. lattedock
cons: it is it is designed for Plasma, so it does not work on other DE (or at least it is too much difficult for my knowledge to make it work)

          4. tint2
so far I was not able to make it magnify icons when hovering

          5. Cairo-dock , Plank
          both need compton
cons: there is a bug, a rectangular area around the dock where I can’t do any entries

My conclusion is that we are close to the goal of this topic, but the proposed solutions are still a bit far from a “real” MacOS feeling.
Par contre with others DE, such as xfce, mate or lxde, the results are largely positive.

My personal solution is to use Antix 19 + jwm, + compton + plank. I only have to give up to the 3 round buttons in the window decoration (and I am unhappy for that).

In case someone comes to different conclusions and can tell me where I’m wrong, they will be welcome!

          Many thanks in advance
