I seem to have lost the ability to mark my own threads as “[solved]”, once a solution has been posted.
Can someone remind me, and others, how to do this ?
Many thanks.- This topic was modified 1 year, 2 months ago by mikey777.

::Go to your original post – your post.
Edit the title and put [SOLVED]
(I usually put it in front of the subject).

::Go to your original post – your post.
Edit the title and put [SOLVED]. (I usually put it in front of the subject).I used to do this, but as caprea subsequently mentioned, if you go past a certain time from
starting the thread only the moderator can mark in “[Solved”. I always find this a bit awkward
to have to do, as it must be a bit of a pain for the moderator.@caprea
How long is the time limit? Sometimes, it can take quite a while before a solution is found.▪ 32-bit antix19.4-core+LXDE installed on :

::I don’t know about the time limit but if you are unable to Mark your own thread solved, let us know; we have enough administration and moderators to help you out if you are unable to mark the thread solved.

::@Brian, you don’t know about a time limit because you’ve been a moderator here from the very first start of this forum.
Thinking about it now, you also were already a moderator in the previous antiX-forum and the one before that.So how can you know something about a time limit? 🙂How long the limit is I’m not sure, two days maybe, in any case actually too short.

Being that as the case, unless we can get our forum configuration modified (I can ask Karen Bennett if that’s possible) we can always have a moderator mark these solved.
Since I worked with Karen on the CleanTalk project, I might be able to reach her and inquire about this. If I find anything new or different, I’ll write about it here or elsewhere.

::If you as the original poster find you cannot edit your first post, just make a reply saying something like:
“Moderators: Please mark this topic SOLVED.”(But really, anything stating that you consider it solved, is enough for me to take the initiative to mark it so.)

Right on: I do the same. Half the time, one of the other moderators gets there before I do; IF I see a post requesting to be solved, I mark it accordingly.
I did write to the person who installs our forum software to see if there is “anything we can tweak” as far as marking subjects SOLVED; if I hear anything other than what we’re doing, I’ll let you all know; meanwhile, Christophe and I (plus any of the other forum moderators or administrators) can do the same.
SOLVED

::I obtained access to the documentation for the forum software,
I’ll see if there is anything useful regarding the titles for topics,
Meanwhile the moderators will continue to mark the completion of topics with [SOLVED] as usual.

::Many thanks everyone and agree with the general feeling that it would be good if the time-limit is extended.
Made me smile when I saw that Brian had marked this thread as Solved! …▪ 32-bit antix19.4-core+LXDE installed on :
