      Dear developers,

      Look at my screenshots.

      In english;
      ———–
      1) Icon “Favorite Applications”
      2) Desktop
      3) Desktop Folder
      4) You have the choice between;
      -> Antix-docs
      or
      -> File-manager

      In french;
      ———-
      1) Icöne “Applications favorites”
      2) Bureau
      3) Desktop Folder (why it’s not translated : should be translated like this “Dossier bureau”)
      4) You have no choice because nothing works !?!? Except a lot of words on one line…
      I recommend that you translate the 2 sub-folders in french like this;
      -> Antix-docs
      -> Gestionnaire de fichiers

      Best regards,
      Wallon

        Hi Wallon,

        I am not a developer, I am an antiX user and I collaborate as I can with the community.

        On the transifex website you can make corrections to translations for your language and collaborate with the constant improvement of antiX. I saw that you already detected other errors and posted on other topics. If you have time available and can collaborate, register on the transifex website, choose a team to translate your language, click on the blue button “Translate”, look for the files: “make-wm-menuspot”, “antix-all -desktop-entries_entxt “and other files from almost all antiX programs. If some files are blocked to correct the translations, I recommend asking developers and reviewers to unlock them so you can collaborate.

        Apparently, @marcuscf encountered the same problem that was discussed in the topic

        I hope you can understand my words correctly translated by the internet translator.

        Olá Wallon,

        Eu não sou desenvolvedor, sou um usuário do antiX e colaboro como eu posso com a comunidade.

        No site transifex você pode fazer as correções das traduções para o seu idioma e colaborar com a melhoria constante do antiX. Eu vi que você já detectou outros erros e postou em outros tópicos. Se você tiver disponibilidade de tempo e puder colaborar, faça o cadastro no site transifex, escolha uma equipe de tradução do seu idioma, clique no botão azul “Traduza”, procure os arquivos: “make-wm-menuspot”, “antix-all-desktop-entries_entxt” e outros arquivos de quase todos os programas do antiX. Se alguns arquivos estiverem bloqueados para corrigir as traduções, eu recomendo solicitar aos desenvolvedores e revisores o desbloqueio para você poder colaborar.

        Ao que parece, o @marcuscf encontrou o mesmo problema que foi discutido no tópico

        Eu espero que você consiga compreender corretamente as minhas palavras traduzidas pelo tradutor da internet.

          Hello Wallon,

          I’m not a developer also, but this time I don’t think it’s a bug again. I’m quite sure this works exactly a expected. As the name of the menuentry “desktop folder” suggests, it contains everything you’ve placed on your visible computer “desktop”. What is displayed there (on desktop as well as in menue), are the contents of the file folder (Just an inattention. Thanks, skidoo for the correction!) “/home/demo/Desktop”, and the two icons in the upper left corner in the screenshot of english language correspond with the two menuentries present in the english menue. In french in no icon visible, but it may be hidden under the expanded main menu. So please check the contents of this folder in both accounts you’ve used to take the shots, the french as well as the english one and let us know the results.

          Robin

          P.S.: @marcelocripe As it says in Skidoos reply to the thread you’ve linked, the bug you mentioned above has got fixed already.

            What is displayed there (on desktop as well as in menu) are the contents of the file directory “/home/demo/Desktop”

            This quoted may statement (or might not) be accurate.
            The behavior of rox, vs spacefm, is confusingly different.

            rox populates the desktop items by reading/writing the content of a “pinboard file”.
            You can create, and swap between using, multiple rox pinboards.

            in antiX, the default pinboard file loaded for icewm sessions is:
            ~/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/ps_antiX-icewm
            (you can use a text editor to examine its content)

            .
            .

            .

              Dear Robin,

              On my screenshot (pdf file), the line with the red ellipse doesn’t work.
              My desktop environment in English is space-icewm – modification done with ROX = nothing.

                Dear skidoo,

                I haven’t found your file ~/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/ps_antiX-icewm
                Look at my screenshot.
                I have only XML files.

                Best regards,

                  Dear skidoo,

                  Please find the screenshot regarding the file pb_antiX-icewm.
                  I don’t see a difference with the English edition.

                  Best regards,
                  Wallon

                    My initial guess is this would be caused by some incorrect quoting or a separator issue (directory walk/for loop) within the menu-icewm-Desktop script.
                    I have not looked into this further to see if that is the case.
                    It may be helpful to have the output of
                    ls ~/Desktop

                      I just checked, and the update hasn’t reached antiX 19.3 yet. The fix was submitted (sparked by this thread) and accepted on the gitlab project, so it should hit the repos soon, I hope.

                      meanwhile, you can manually fix it by editing the /usr/local/bin/icewm-menu-Desktop.sh file
                      sudo geany /usr/local/bin/icewm-menu-Desktop.sh
                      and replacing its content with what you can see on the gitlab project.
                      Save and exit.
