      Hi!

Purged my system of nvidia drivers using
      $ sudo ddm-mx -p nvidia

Everythings fine and dandy except the icons on the icewm menu have changed, but only the sub-menu “applications.” How do restore the papirus icons to the applications submenu? I looked at the icewm menu config file and there it seems that the menu icons on the initial menu (Terminal, File Manager, Web Browser, etc) are given by absolut paths, eg /usr/share/icons/papirus-antix/48×48/apps/terminal.png. How are the icons for the “applications” menu generated?

      Thanks!

Make sure the GTK theme you are using is papirus-antix (can be checked from lxappearance).
Press the Refresh Menu button in the menu. It should fix the icons of the Applications menu.
        If that doesn’t work, run
        sudo desktop-menu --write-out global

          Thanks for the tip Xecure!

I tried sudo desktop-menu –write-out global since refresh didnt work. Got the following error:

          Traceback (most recent call last):
          File “/usr/local/bin/desktop-menu”, line 322, in <module>
          with open(USER_HOME+”/.desktop-session/desktop-code.”+DISPLAY, “r”) as f:
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: ‘/root/.desktop-session/desktop-code.0’

any clue as to what I can do next?

A few restarts later and the icons are back in business. It might have been installing a program with apt that triggered the whole “writing menu…” thing.

Good to know it is now working properly.
Maybe the command needs to be run without sudo
              desktop-menu --write-out global
I will investigate a bit when I have time.
