My Compaq laptop previously was running Vista. The microphone and camera worked fine with Zoom.
I recently installed antiX 22. Now, the internal integrated microphone will work for shot periods of time on Zoom. Google Meet the mic will not work at all. A USB headset with mic will work consistently on Zoom but not at all on Google Meet.

::You describe some trully random Mic behaviours – plase try to install pulseaudio (and enable it) and see if the audio works better…
To install pulseaudio:
Menu > Terminal:
sudo apt install pulseaudioenter your password of asked to, then wait for the install procedure to finish…
To enable pulseaudio server:

::I installed Pulse Audio from the Package Installer and rebooted the laptop.
Now, the microphone is working on both Zoom and Google Meet.
