My Compaq laptop previously was running Vista. The microphone and camera worked fine with Zoom.

I recently installed antiX 22. Now, the internal integrated microphone will work for shot periods of time on Zoom. Google Meet the mic will not work at all. A USB headset with mic will work consistently on Zoom but not at all on Google Meet.

You describe some trully random Mic behaviours – plase try to install pulseaudio (and enable it) and see if the audio works better…

        To install pulseaudio:

        Menu > Terminal:

        sudo apt install pulseaudio

enter your password of asked to, then wait for the install procedure to finish…

        To enable pulseaudio server:

        pulseaudio -D

I installed Pulse Audio from the Package Installer and rebooted the laptop.
Now, the microphone is working on both Zoom and Google Meet.
Thank you so much for the help.
