        Forgot t include:

When I test. I enable the MX test repo in synaptic sources list. Hit reload. Install application. Then comment out MX test repo < untick the check box that was checked earlier to install the app > . Hit reload. Then close synaptic package manager.

It was not. I went ahead and installed it. Youtube still errors out. Terminal does not throw a can’t find a opengl plugin error youtube. Just a ton of repeat gtk errors anymore while runnig midori. Changing my gtk theme to Arc Dark did not stop the gtk error readouts.

Check all of the files in /etc/apt in your file manager.
Make a couple of screenshots of what you found.

Then you open antix.list in Terminal with:

                    sudo /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list

In second out of three groups, you should find it.

You are looking for the line with “… stretch test” at the end:

                    # MX Community Main and Test Repos
                    deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mx/repo/ stretch main non-free
                    #deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ stretch test

… and you TEMPORARILY remove ‘#’ at the beginning of the line.

No sign == enabled; With sign == disabled

You don’t want the one starting with ‘src-deb’, but the one that has only ‘deb…’ at the beginning.

Part (path) before may vary, depending on your configuration (from which repo you are downloading from).

After you removed ‘#’ and saved the file, you open the Terminal and execute:

                    sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ... whatever you're trying to install

After you’re done, you repeat the process and DISABLE (set ‘#’ at the beginning of the line) the testing repository again and execute:

                    sudo apt-get update

Now your antiX forgot about testing again.

                      Hi andfree,
you will not find the mxtest-repo in any of your lists.

You have to edit your /etc/apt/sources.list.d
I placed it in the various list.

                      deb http://la.mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/ stretch test

You also have to download the keyring_all.deb for the repo and install it manually with gdebi for example

                      http://la.mxrepo.com/mx/repo/pool/main/m/mx-archive-keyring/

midori runs fine here on antiX besides the gtk-errors roky mentioned.

Please dont forget to disable the test-repo after the installation of midori !

Thanks for your help. Indeed, no mx testrepo in any of my lists. I placed it in the various list, too. I installed gdebi and used it to install the keyring_all.deb for the repo. I used Synaptic to install midori 8. After all, I unticked the check box for the mx testrepo and hit reload.

Unfortunately, midori doesn’t run fine on this antiX system. Pages seem to be loaded but, at the end, only a blank page is displayed.

Yes, I’ve seen this also. What I did after installation is, went into the settings in the upper right corner and changed the startpage and side which opens at start. First I had the impression this doesn’t help, but suddenly it worked somehow.

Same here. antiX and MX forums work but many websites display a white page.

And compared to Palemoon, Midori uses 100% of my cpu.

                              cyrilus31,
cpu usage here is the same like firefox.
Which side does not open for example ?
Seems to work here, but didn’t use it so much.
                              Youtube works after installing gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad.
Did you try it on MX already ?

Also, this is not on a clean installation. I’ve installed some other browsers here.Maybe something was pulled in by another browser, which is missing on your installation.

                                Hi Caprea
I just tried on my MX instal on the same laptop. Almost same behavior except CPU is not always stuck at 100%.
MX forum works perfectly and CPU use is normal.
I had to deactive scripts in Midori settings to open antixforum and login page freezes my PC for a long time.

Similar behavior here. MX forum works. Deactiving scripts opened antiX forum, but I can’t login. Other sites still display a white page.
