As I saw there is a new release of antiX (17.4.1) I ran apt update to see if there was anything I should upgrade.
As I did upgrade a few days ago, there was nothing, but something called my attention, both the last time I ran apt update (a few day ago, as I said) and now. There were errors in the update output.
Everything was OK until I got:
Err:8 http://mirror.adct.be/mx/antix/stretch stretch/main i386 Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 51.68.176.172 80]Then, there several were more lines with no problem, and, in the end, there was this:
Fetched 668 kB in 25s (26.7 kB/s) Reading package lists... Done W: The repository 'http://mirror.adct.be/mx/antix/stretch stretch Release' does not have a Release file. N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. E: Failed to fetch http://mirror.adct.be/mx/antix/stretch/dists/stretch/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 51.68.176.172 80] E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.I ran this in an eeePC 900 (32bit system), with 2GB of RAM.
Is this relevant or anything I should be concerned about?
I have been using Linux for a long time, but only as a desktop user, but I’m just a regular user, without any technical knowledge.
All the best.

Use repo-manager to select another.Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Thank you, anticapitalista!
I changed mirrors, using the Repo Manager, then, I tried three different mirrors:
Anycast Wordlwide – https://mirrors.evowise.com/mxlinux-packages (which the repo manager said would be the fastest for me)
Brazil, São Paulo – https://sft.if.usp.br/mx-workspace (which is geographically closest)
Canada, Default antiX – https://repo.antixlinux.com (just because I thought it made sense)In all of them, I got another error message (different from the previous one, though, I guess that’s some progress).
W: GPG error: http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch InRelease: The following signatures were invalid: EXPKEYSIG DB36CDF3452F0C20 antiX (antix repo) <antix@daveserver.info> W: The repository 'http://repo.antixlinux.com/stretch stretch InRelease' is not signed. N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. It seems like an authentication error, common to all three mirrors. I do not have the knowledge to know if it’s really a problem, but,as in the previous message, I thought it made sense to report it.
Thanks again!

What’s wired about it is, you say you are using antix17.4.1 and this version should already have a fixed key.
Edit: I misunderstood, you wanted to upgrade to 17.4.1

That solved it!
It was, of course, my fault. I had seen the EXPKEYSIG error and fix post it’s the top post in the forum, but had no idea what it referred to.
Thanks again!
