      I’m on a freshly installed r21

      PRETTY_NAME="antiX-21 Grup Yorum"
      DISTRIB_ID=antiX
      DISTRIB_RELEASE=21
      DISTRIB_CODENAME=bullseye
      DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="antiX 21"

      When I vi a file (either in whatever vi was installed by the installer or in my preferred option, neovim) I get these weird blocks like I’m missing a font or something. I took a screenshot and attached it here.

      Any idea what I’m missing or how to fix? neovim (and vi) do work, it’s just annoying to look at.

      Thanks

        Interestingly, I had the same question yesterday, if you haven’t seen it yet.

        Edit: Your case looks different.

          As I recall, during betatesting of antiX 21 the was reported as a roxterm bug.
          Troubleshooting suggestion: try using a different terminal emulator program, to check whether or not it exhibits the same misbehavior.

          I used forum search to recheck; the reported bug seems unrelated to what you’ve described.

          I haven’t seen anybody else mention any problems with using HTOP in a21b2. But when I open HTOP from a terminal the bottom line that shows the Function Key selections is not functioning properly. I have always had trouble using the F10 key to quit HTOP since it opens the menu of ROX Term. So I had got used to clicking on the F10 with my mouse. That does not work to quite HTOP and instead pops up a sort list. I end up using the X in the upper right to quit HTOP and the entire terminal.

          This appears to be specific to Roxterm. Works correctly for me using RXVT and ST terminals.

            I get those weird blocks sometimes when loading webpages in firefox-esr, using antiX 19.4. I’ve always assumed its a missing font but cant be bothered to fix it. I think I’ve installed every font package available in debian.

                Thats interesting, that you can see the unicode inside the box! I had no idea. Then maybe I can find out what font I’m missing.

                  I think you were right pre-edit. I only see this in roxterm and if I use something else it all looks good. Thanks.

                  Looks like it’s a feature not supported in some terminals according to https://github.com/neovim/neovim/issues/6041
