Hi there, would like to further use AntiX on my old Samsung N130 netbook.
Just booted from USB Flash into antiX-22_386-full.
Seconds after seeing the desktop the mouse/touchpad cursor/pointer simply disappears. Each time. Can’t get it back.
I can still see that the desktop reacts on the mouse/touchpad, but the cursor/pointer itself remains invisible.I read about this issue in antiX Forum thread from 2015, where someone replied that I should just right click somewhere and open an app to make the cursor appear again. That does not work.
Any other help?
It’s so hard for me to get the installation process done with only keyboard.Thank you!

::I don’t recall ever reading about that bug but here is my opinion:
– trying to install a system with that bug may result in it remaining in the installed system, making it almost useless for you, so please first try to solve that problem, then try to install antiX!
– antiX comes with 2 kernels, that you can select when booting, please try a different kernel (I think the live system boots from the older kernel, so try the newer kernel) and see if that solves your problem
– there are some truly weird bugs on some computers (I used antiX on more than half a dozen computers and, on my work desktop pc, it refuses to work with auto-log in, still working but not updating the screen except in some cases (like using the menu)). It may be related to the desktop or the video card. To check if it’s an IceWM problem, at boot time, check the F(number) key that allows to change the desktop and select, for example a JWM desktop- and see if the mouse pointer works then.
Most probably, in case it’s a video driver related problem, you may have to replace some setting on your video config – someone with more insight on how to do that will probably try to help you on that, if my previous advices don’t work…Edit: I searched, and I found a similar problem, that was, in fact, kernel related – https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/antix-mx-linux-127/mouse-pointer-disappears-during-installation-of-antix-19-2-a-4175673827/

::Thank you for that super quick help.
The thread I cited was this: https://antixlinux.com/forum-archive/cursor-gone-after-update-and-login-solved-t5656.html
The thread you linked is more similar. By now, I did not find an option to boot a different kernel. But I tried different window managers, which made no difference.
Booting in “Safe video” mode worked! Resolution isn’t correct now, but the cursor is here.
I will try to download another iso with older kernels.
