mps-youtube is giving errors about apt_key.

Short-term fix is to do the following.

      1. delete ~/.config/mps-youtube/cache_py*
      2. Open mps-youtube and type

      set api_key AIzaSyApOW6Ur8oRM_1OACkkhxnNrbtv0e4qfaM

      3. quit mps-youtube
      4. Start mps-youtube

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I need some help with this.

Where will I find ~/.config/mps-youtube/cache_py* so I can delete it?

In your home folder (~/. = hidden files in eg home/me)

            Thanks for the help.
            I went to .config/mps-youtube but I do not see a cache_py* file.
The only files that I see are: config, play_history, playlist_v2, and transcode.

              OK. Jump to step 2.

                | 1. delete ~/.config/mps-youtube/cache_py*

This file must be deleted daily, else mps-youtube will not start.

Since the file is not there you don’t need this step – the file has either been previously deleted or never created, so it’s not a concern.

                  Start with
                  2. Open mps-youtube…
                  and perform the remaining steps.

See if that works (referring to the four step procedure outlined by anticapitalista).

                    Hello, Brian!

This file (~/.config/mps-youtube/cache_py_3.7.3) is created after mps-youtube is stopped.
The next day, I delete it and then run mps-youtube.
The instruction written by anticapitalista works. I applied it.
But every day I delete this file again for the normal operation of the program.

In that case it would be ideal if the program itself checked for the existence of the file and automatically cleaned up, either before or after each run.

Checking beforehand seems like the best option.

Yes, a convenient script does the job too. Thanks for sharing it with the community.
