Things were going swimmingly! But I must’ve touched preferences without noticing bc. hooboy.
I think I got a dmesg note that NO suitable profile for selinux was found.
Kind of consistent with the messages in dmesg about TOMOYO Linux being started.
What? Is this anything to do with the last 2 upgrades having saved hundreds of MB?
Networking kind of fell out without notice otherwise.
Using the Maintenance tab of antiX Control Centre got Network Assistant handy for taking things out of blacklist as far as Broadcomm modules.
But only unblacklisting all of them finally got Transmission back in commission.
Ceni lets WiFi credentials pass; no networks or scanning are permitted in connman.
Web browsing is still right out.
Notably dmesg fails in userland (read kernel buffer Operation not permitted.) Works for root.
Kernel 5.6.10 amd64 from gcc 8.3.0 SMP PREEMPT, it didn’t like inconsistent MTRR, optional FADT pointing to 00… An M600 with 2 CPUs
Lots of whinging to *** VALIDATE ramfs, hugrtlbfs, bpf, fuse, fuseblk etc. from TOMOYO Linux.
Whinges about not communing with the TPS chip.
pci_map_rom mapping multiple BARsAh, very late in dmesg is ‘Support for cores revisions 0x17 and 0x1 disabled by module param allhwsupport=0. Try b43.allhwsupport=1
also other brcms_ops_…. stuff like qos and power-save-mode false (implement)
more in the bcrcmsmac and whatnot. Is there an undo for this Tomoyofying and SELinux hosing? Halp?
eta: Ooops, Hannie Schaft not Marielle Franco. What planet is this?

::Hi.
I have avoided answering some of your previous posts because I wasn’t sure what you were asking.
Your artistic way of writing makes the post entertaining but leaves me off with the feeling I cannot help you as I cannot particularly understand your problem.
Maybe it is my dry brain who is only able to understand problems in a dry and analytical way.If what you are saying is that updating to the newest kernel 5.6.10 breaks some stuff in your system (that you latter have to manually fix with a lot of effort) maybe it would be easier to go back to a previous kernel.
If your computer is older than 4-5 years, maybe using the latest 4.19 kernel will work for you. It will include the exact same security patches and remain compatible with your hardware.
If you need something specific of the 5.X kernel (like using some other filesystem newer than ext4, can’t remember the name right now), then this suggestion is useless. Sorry for wasting your time.Hope you can figure out all problems you encounter.

::Thanks! It’s not that I don’t love console output, it’s that I’m not typing on that machine because I don’t have TCP/IP on it and thus no web.
Sure enough moving to kernel 4.19 removes notice of TOMOYO in kernel, since there is no security=TOMOYO in either kernel’s GRUB command, just the vga=791 (which gets whinged at for being deprecated) and ro and quiet. My repos look tame for once. rpi.edu mirror though, not oncendone.
Maybe more than anything the BM43224 is somehow out of order…tried another card in there and had it rejected at boot because I hadn’t put a UEFI permission for it in there.Anyone know where connman-d keeps logs? I can’t get that to scan for WiFi SSIDs lately, the buttons are greyed.
even in kernel 4.19
Fairly enough, TOMOYO has a message *** VALIDATE selinux *** letting me know I have checking to do. Someplace.
CENI is doing a good job of letting me connect to what turn out to be like-named SSID around (both named Gondawandatransformer …weird router from AT&T fiber.) I just don’t really get much use of it…I can put in 1.1.1.1 and the IPv6 for nameservers, but CENI has another field for DNS Search…i guess that’s for my gateway’s IP to be put in ?May 17, 2020 at 1:26 am #36021Member

::Connman needs to be executed with debugging option.
https://wiki.kubuntu.org/ConnMan/DebuggingTo enable debug logs:
Edit /etc/init/connman.conf and edit the last line containing the exec stanza like this:
exec connmand -c -dRestart connman:
sudo restart connmanYou should see debug messages in /var/log/syslog now:

I only select SSID, write the password and hit continue without filling out the other info, and it works. If your router needs you to set DNS and other stuff, then yes, do so. If it doesn’t, don’t worry that ceni will fill in with blanks with default info.
