I’m staying away from “scripting” for now, but I can tell you this- don’t bother with Fluxbox- the default toolbar does not allow any “quick launch” icons – skidoo did compile a nice Fluxbox version that did allow text “quick launchers” on the toolbar (that accepted svg glyphs that could resemble icons… I used that for a while…
Case in point – fluxbox does not have quick launch icons…
anticapitalista did try to produce a “TIM” for JWM (there was even a .desktop file for it) but it didn’t take off and I had no interest on JWM…Anonymous

Yes, I looked at Rox-Fluxbox running on a flashdrive, and now understand. I never realized how much I use the toolbar till I tried doing without it. After looking at tint2’s config program and options, I now see why you like it. I’ll have to try your setup for that. It would take a heck of a good showing to get me to switch from IceWM, but its always nice to see new and useful innovations.
AS per the “future antiX” thread, I wrote a small Toolbar Icon Manager for IceWM “help” entry, for now on simple text (I’m not good at writing html).

Toolbar Icon Manager for IceWM (T.I.M. for short) is a GUI (Graphics User Interface) that allows you to add, remove and move toolbar icons in the default antiX desktop (IceWM).
The toolbar is the part of the screen that hosts the “start menu”, list of running windows, system tray and clock.
So you can always have fast access to your preferred programs, IceWM allows you to have icons there that, once clicked, start the desired application (so you don’t have to go looking for your application in the menu or desktop icons)
It acts like a kind of “dock” that is now very common on many Operating Systems.
Because IceWM does not provide any graphical way to manage the (quick launch) icons displayed in it’s toolbar, antiX has it’s own T.I.M.How to add icons to the toolbar
1- If you have not done so, start T.I.M. : Menu > Applications > Antix > Toolbar Icon Manager for IceWM (it’s the icon that looks like a snowy mountain top). Depending of your computer’s speed, it may take some seconds to load (it’s listing all installed applications in antiX)
2- Click the “+ add icon” button on the lower right.
3- A alphabetically arranged list of (almost) all applications installed in your system by the package manager appears on the screen. Select the application whose icon you want to have on the toolbar and double left clicking it. You can also do a single left click and then left click the ” + Add icon” button.
4- You can add as many applications as you want. When you are done close the application selection window and T.I.M’s main window.How to remove icons to the toolbar

This buttons displays a short tutorial on how to manually edit the toolbar config file and then open it for edition on a text editor.
This is the most feature rich way to edit the icons on the toolbar- you can comment out temporarily unwanted icons, and move lines that refer to icons much faster than you can using the GUI.
You can also manually add icons that do not have .desktop files (like, for example, Appimages, or binaries you installed directly, run custom commands – like ” firefox http://www.netflix.com ” or launch scripts, etc, etc…)- This reply was modified 2 years, 5 months ago by PPC.

Will start to translate to German, once the kids get vacation or we have lockdown.
Probably Monday next onward.
Ask my daughter to work from the text and correct if we find need. Her German grammar
is better than mine, better than Language Tool sometimes too.She is not an expert with setup, so a good test case.

Muito Obrigado!Eu gostaria de destacar a importância na forma que o PPC inseriu os textos neste programa (TIM), o espaço disponível é bem grande e permite a flexibilidade necessária na adaptação da tradução para todos os idiomas disponíveis no antiX. Além de que as únicas quebras de linhas (\n) são apenas para mudar de linha quando um parágrafo acaba ou para mudar de assunto. Isso é perfeito! Em outras áreas do antiX, temos dificuldades para tornar os textos bem explicados nas adaptações das traduções para o idioma Português, devido a limitação de espaço disponível. Normalmente as palavras em idioma Português consomem muito mais espaço do que as palavras em idioma Inglês. Eu imagino que em outros idiomas, deve acontecer o mesmo problema, a falta de espaço disponível para a adaptação da tradução ficar compreensível e bem explicada.

Observações quanto ao início do texto:
Esta sugestão eu indico e recomendo para ser incluída em TODOS os idiomas que sejam diferentes do idioma Inglês, em especial para os países que traduzem o nome do programa TIM e para TODOS os programas disponíveis no antiX. A primeira parte, até chegar no início do parênteses, está o texto traduzido em idioma Português do Brasil. Após o parênteses vem o momento de tornar o antiX mais “educativo”, é quando eu menciono o nome original do programa em idioma Inglês. Desta forma o usuário que não lê em inglês aprende qual é o nome original do programa e sabe de antemão o que significa o programa que está utilizando e terá maior facilidade de reportar dúvidas neste fórum, pois ele saberá (se ler o conteúdo de Ajuda) qual é o “verdadeiro” nome do programa e o motivo da sigla (TIM) ser utilizada neste fórum. São com os pequenos detalhes que podemos ensinar o usuário iniciante em informática ou ao usuário iniciante no antiX a aprender sobre este o sistema operacional fantástico. O texto abaixo não está traduzido para o idioma Inglês, é intencional para que todos que não leiam o idioma Português do Brasil possam entender a ideia que eu envio:

Dependendo da velocidade do seu computador, pode demorar alguns segundos para carregar, pois será listado todos os aplicativos instalados no antiX.

2 – Clique no botão “+ Adicionar ícone” no canto inferior direito.

3 – Será exibida uma lista organizada em ordem alfabética, contendo quase todos os aplicativos instalados pelo gerenciador de pacotes no seu sistema operacional antiX. Selecione o aplicativo cujo ícone você deseja ter na barra de ferramentas e clique duas vezes com o botão esquerdo sobre o nome do aplicativo. Você também pode fazer um único clique com o botão esquerdo e em seguida clicar com o botão esquerdo no botão ”+ Adicionar ícone”.

4 – Você pode adicionar quantos aplicativos desejar. Quando terminar, feche a janela de seleção de ícones aplicativos e a janela principal do gerenciador TIM.
