Some users have reported issues with a long delay when booting due to networking (waiting for eth etc).

I have repackaged the debian/buster version of ifupdown and need to check that it works (ie no more delays) in as many situations as possible.

To try, add dev to the /etc/apt/sourcs.list.d/antix.list, so it looks something like this.

deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/buster buster main nonfree dev

      apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade

      Reboot and post results.

This also applies to testing and sid users.

Please test if using connman, ceni or something else and if you use wired and/or wireless.

      Thanks

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

        Hello,
Using connman here, wired (and/or wireless sometimes only) … and now with your new version ifupdown , it is a lot faster when I only use wired (so with wireless off) on my eepc.

… So congratulations, that works here.

And a problem with the wireless turned on or with the wireless turned on has not been tried?

The way it reads to me suggests there is a problem when the wireless is enabled but it is not a bother too much

            Yes.

In fact, the boot times is faster (in all cases) but especially (now with this new version of ifupdown) when wireless was turned Off here and wired On (both config initially stored into wicd-client)

… But I did some new tests and if wifi is turned on into my eepc, I had to reactivate my wifi via wicd-client (in connman it does not work) .
For wired it is ok with the both connman-gtk or wicd-client

… But maybe it is due to an issue into connman-gtk … so I have to investigate more things (but I do not use my wifi very often).

No more delays here. One frugal install using connman & another one using ceni.
32-bit. Wifi only tested (only connection I use regularly).

              confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019
