Helllo all, I’m still new to linux but love the philosophy and have tried Ubuntu style distros. Decided to bring to life an old lenovo Y430 with antiX and it’s been great!

      Thanks to the contributors

Hi jola, welcome. What are the specs for your Lenovo Y430?

Yes, antiX can breathe new life into old computers, and even not-so-old computers.

As a proud own of only old computers, I’m glad I found out antiX over 2 years ago!
Fortunatly for the users only now getting to know antiX it’s much better looking now, and more user friendly than it was then! You “newbies” have it good now!
Welcome, and, if there’s something you need help with, read the “manual”, the forum, and if you still can’t figure it out, ask here for help! People here are usually very helpfull!

P.S.- out of curiosity I googled you lenovo – the link I clicked left me a bit confused:

            Maximum memory (RAM): 2 GB
            RAM Type: DDR2
            Installed memory (RAM): 4 GB

What happens to a laptop that has more installed memory than the maximum memory possible? Does it evolve into Skynet? 🙂

            P.
